The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 499

In her astonishment, Beverley's voice echoed, "My cousin can’t change the family traditions, no matter how open-minded he is. The Stirling family hasn't altered their rules in a century."

Aurelia was a little speechless. "The Stirling family is the top family. Don't you think it's time to move with the times?"

Beverley replied, "The family rules have pros and cons, but the Stirling family has weathered all storms thanks to these strict rules. Have you ever seen any nouveau riche family that could pass down its fortune for more than three generations?"

Aurelia fell silent. Despite being part of the Stirling family for a while, she'd never truly involved herself in its management affairs, and her understanding of this immense family was only superficial at best.

"If you must marry, choose someone with good character and a devoted heart. Perhaps you can even fall in love with him after marriage."

Beverley nodded in agreement. "That's the best outcome we can hope for."

Aurelia took a sip of her cocktail and looked around for Kerry, but she was nowhere to be found. Her eyes scanned the party hall, but she couldn't spot her anywhere. Instead, she saw Megan approaching her.

Megan gently rubbed her belly. "I had a blood test a few days ago. The doctor says it's a boy. Leopold couldn't be happier. He's been rushing home after work to keep me company."

Aurelia kept a poker face. At that moment, the only thing on her mind was to unmask the leader of the AK Group.

"You don't need to tell me about your private affairs with Mr. Leopold."

Megan shrugged. "I'm glad you're keeping your distance from my husband. No matter what, once a marriage ends, there should be no lingering ties."

Aurelia chuckled lightly. "You're overthinking. Mr. Leopold has plenty of women around him, some even expecting his children. He can't possibly give them all the attention they need, let alone have the time to maintain ties with me."

To keep his rendezvous with his ex-wife a secret, Mr. Leopold had even bought a new car and would sneak over late at night. Megan was certainly oblivious to his whereabouts.

A nerve twitched on Megan's face.

Those women were like thorns in her side.
