The night valley was silent, the sky studded with stars like jewels.
Tendrils of silvery, ethereal light floated amongst the grass, creating a spectacle that looked like strands of fairy lights, forming countless crisscross ribbons.
"Wow, fireflies!" exclaimed William in awe.
Leah quickly pulled out her phone to capture the moment.
The fireflies, like the elves of the night, fluttered their delicate wings, carrying tiny lanterns. They darted up and down, left and right, weaving through the flower beds.
"It's so beautiful." Leah's eyes widened in admiration. Sightings of such whimsical creatures were rare, only found in secluded valleys.
William picked up his tablet, "Let me take the pictures for you. I am the son of the world's number one photographer, and I guarantee that each picture will be a masterpiece."
He smirked, his eyebrows raised in pride.
Leah ruffled his hair, "Alright, let's have the son of the renowned photographer take our pictures."
William was thrilled to be everyone's photographer for the day. He was imitating Arnold, taking each picture with utmost seriousness.
As everyone was immersed in their joy, an insect flew in from somewhere. Just as it was about to approach Kane, Leopold's keen eyes spotted it.
With a swift move, he brandished his portable bug zapper, striking the insect down with a forceful swing. After being electrocuted, the insect fell to the ground. But it didn't die, instead, it seemed to be riled up and fiercely charged towards Leopold.
Leopold knocked it down again with his bug zapper and then stepped on it. Finally, the insect stopped moving.
One of the bodyguards shone a flashlight on it and realized it was a hornet.
"Why would there be a hornet at night?"
Hornets were diurnal, returning to their nests by dusk and it was unlikely for them to be out flying alone.
Aurelia heard his words and shared a glance with Leopold, both sensed something was off.
Walking the mountain roads at night was dangerous, so they had to spend the night at the campsite.
