Skyler was itching to hit the toy store for some new gear. So after knocking off for the day, Aurelia and Leopold decided to take him to Toyland.
Leopold whispered orders to his bodyguard to stay sharp, watching out for any tail because you never know who might be creeping around.
Toyland was Skyler's playground, where his eyes danced from one shiny thing to another.
Aurelia once heard from Leah that Skyler's heart was at age eight despite his towering frame and a collection of four PhDs. Inside the man was a little boy who just never grew up.
They found their way to the LEGO building block zone, where several kids were stacking bricks like there was no tomorrow.
Skyler plopped beside them, getting his hands on the pieces and joining the fun.
It was when Leah showed up with little William in tow.
She had a free afternoon and thought it'd be great to join Aurelia and Skyler at Toyland, with William tagging along for the ride.
Aurelia wasn't thrilled about her son being there. With the AK Group possibly lurking in the shadows, she knew the AK Group people were malicious. She feared for her son's safety. But what's done was done, and turning them away wasn't an option.
"William, this is Skyler," she introduced.
William glanced at Skyler, his face twisting into an odd expression, "Mommy, did you come to Toyland to hang out with Skyler?"
Aurelia nodded.
Skyler looked up at William, "You're Aurelia's kid, right? That makes you little... angel."
William cracked a smile. "Yup, I’m a little angel. I’m William. Nice to meet you."
"Why the mask?" Skyler asked with curiosity.
Aurelia chuckled. "William gets spooked around strangers. The mask gives him a sense of security, like how you love your lollipops when you're scared."
"Oh," Skyler scratched his head, a spark igniting in his eyes. "So, William is just like me. We gotta be best buddies."
