"Don't talk nonsense. I'm as sweet as pumpkin pie, never been one to pick on Kane. As long as Kane plays nice, I'll treat him well."
All he had to do was step aside and give the rightful heir up. Then perhaps she'd let him off the hook. Otherwise, the minute her child was born, it would mark the end of his charade.
Aurelia didn't buy it for a second. Megan's intentions were as clear as daylight to anyone with half a brain.
Her ambitions were practically plastered across her face.
William wrinkled his nose at her, "So, is your kid gonna duke it out with Kane for the heir?"
A shadow of malice flickered in Megan's eyes, "I'll follow whatever Leopold decides. It's not like I have a say in who gets to be the heir."
If all those little brats were out of the picture, Leopold would have no choice but to crown her son.
All she had to do was ensure her son was the only option left.
William shrugged, "Anyway, you're having a girl, not someone who can inherit the family fortune."
"It's a boy, not a girl." Megan snapped back instantly.
"Why are you so fixated on having a boy? Don't want a girl?" William prodded on purpose.
"Because your Uncle Leopold wants a boy," Megan hissed through clenched teeth, thinking, “This little rascal is unbelievably troublesome. None of Angie's offsprings are any good, they're all insufferable brats."
William pulled a face at her, "Yeah, right. Uncle Leopold told me he's happy with Kane. Any other children would just be spare parts he'd rather not have." Grinning mischievously, he added, "Uncle Leopold also said if you have a boy, we might as well call him 'Spare Part Stirling.'"
Skyler burst into laughter, "Spare Part Stirling? that's hilarious!"
Megan felt like she was about to have a stroke.
