Leah let out a sigh and shook her head.
"Leopold is such a sad case. He married a woman who turned out to be a complete nutjob. Now he's got to sneak around and can't even enjoy a vacation in peace."
"I bet Leopold was itching to get a divorce. If she hadn't gotten pregnant, he probably would've had the papers drawn up by now."
Avery snorted, "Well, that was his own doing. He was the one who messed around with Megan, ditching Aurelia. If they get divorced, he better not think he can get back into her life. Aurelia won’t take him back."
Avery had come to accept Leopold as his brother-in-law, and Jolin and Zack treated him like their own son. But he changed suddenly. If Aurelia wasn't so strong, she’d have crumbled by now.
Aurelia didn’t say anything. Deep down, she couldn’t forgive Leopold, either. The thought of him coldly casting her aside still stung her heart.
But Kane needed her. In this world, the only one who could truly protect Kane was herself.
Were men reliable? No. Men who remarried wouldn't care about their ex-wife's kids.
She picked up her glass and silently sipped her yogurt, choosing not to speak.
Arnold stole a glance at her. Of course, he didn’t want Aurelia going back to Leopold. In his eyes, he was the one who truly deserved her, the one who loved her most.
Leopold, with his cold heart and distant ways, couldn't hold a candle to him.
William nibbled on a piece of lobster, his voice babyish, "When Daddy gets divorced, Mommy will remarry Daddy, and we'll live half the year in Goldstone and half in Elysium."
He had the future all planned out.
"I wanna live half the year in Goldstone and half in Elysium too," Skyler chimed in quickly. He wanted to be with William and Aurelia.
Arnold smiled and ruffled William's hair, "Alright. I will work hard to make your wish come true."
After dinner, back at the hotel, Leah pulled Aurelia aside into her room.
