Leah dropped her head, very frustrated.
She had only four days left, and she hadn't mastered a single dish.
Resorting to takeout would be such an insincere gesture, wouldn't it? Avery would definitely be displeased.
Patting her on the back, Aurelia said, "Let's focus on one dish today, beef stew with potatoes. Avery loves it. When he was little, every time Mom made it, he could eat it all."
"Okay." Leah nodded eagerly.
Aurelia led her to the kitchen and started by teaching her how to slice the beef.
"You've got to slice it against the grain so it stays tender and juicy."
She guided Leah's hands through each step, and finally, the beef stew was simmering.
Leah couldn't wait to taste it. Delicious, true, but Aurelia had added the spices, and Leah knew she still had plenty to learn.
Aurelia dished up two servings, and they sat down to dig in.
"In the next couple of days, practice on your own, and the day after tomorrow, I'll come over and teach you another recipe."
"Got it," Leah replied with a nod.
As they ate, Aurelia glanced at her phone. There was major gossip in show bizz today, involving Lana.
Someone had leaked that she was the mistress of a married tycoon, a homewrecker who had even attacked the legal wife, brazenly bold.
Aurelia's first thought was that Megan had orchestrated this. The term 'legal wife' dripped with irony. Was Megan really the legal wife?
The gossip suggested the tycoon was none other than Lana's boss, Leopold.
Soon after, a bunch of people replied.
[Are you talking about Avery's sister’s ex-husband? Everyone knows he's been remarried, right?]
[His current wife was the mistress who climbed up. If it's really him, then the second wife got what she deserved—karma.]
[Lana and Aurelia are tight. Is she avenging Aurelia? Go, Lana!]
