Leopold shot her an elusive glance, his eyes becoming unfathomably deep.
This twist was somewhat unexpected to him.
This woman always had a way of catching him off guard!
He gave Kevin a subtle nod, and Kevin spoke, "Building camaraderie among colleagues is not a bad thing, and the company does not oppose interdepartmental relationships. However, such violations that disrupt the entire company over a minor misunderstanding should be strictly avoided in the future. The Design Department will decide how to handle this."
As he spoke, Aurelia's phone buzzed. It was a message from Leopold, [Meet me in my office after the meeting.]
She stole a glance at him. His strikingly handsome face remained impassive, icy and indifferent.
Was she going to be interrogated after the meeting?
Once the meeting was over and everyone had left, she approached him.
"Mr. Leopold, is there something you need?"
Leopold leaned back in his executive chair, his slender fingers tapping lightly on the desk, like a judge pondering over a case.
"You're quite daring, planning on marketing even before the new design is out."
Aurelia pursed her lips. She knew this hurdle was yet to be crossed. Fooling the big boss was not going to be easy.
"What if I told you I was set up? Would you believe me?"
Leopold took a sip of his coffee and replied in a deep voice, "Who set you up?"
"Who else could it be?" Aurelia plopped down on the couch, venting her frustration, "On Friday, Evelyn purposely leaked false news, saying she was inviting the marketing team to a resort for the weekend. Without good marketing, even the best designs won't sell. In my hurry, I decided to bond with the marketing team as well."
"So, your solution was to form an alliance with the marketing department?"
Leopold raised an eyebrow. Who would come up with such an outlandish idea?
Aurelia gave an awkward smile, but didn't respond.
This was something she had come up with on the spot.
On Saturday, when she saw Evelyn at Muse Club, she knew something was amiss.
Evelyn should have been at Moonlight Lake Resort.
