Megan's face turned pale as she struggled with the revelation. "Whose child is it that the boss cares so much about?"
Jewel replied curtly, "That's none of your business. Just bring the child back. No excuses."
"Fine, I got it," Megan snapped, her frustration evident. She hadn't even found her missing child. How was she expected to deal with someone else's? Megan took refuge with the Alcott family to escape Jewel's relentless nagging.
When Callie heard the child wasn't Megan’s and that Megan’s child had been kidnapped, she was horrified.
"Why didn't you tell me something this important earlier ?"
"I was worried it was a girl and dared not tell you," Megan admitted through tears.
"A girl is still better than being caught red-handed cheating," Callie chided. "You're so foolish."
Determined to clear things up, Callie decided to take Megan to the Stirling Mansion to speak with Jessica. They couldn't wait to be kicked out on the street.
After arriving at the Stirling Mansion, the butler led them into the reception room.
Stirling Mansion had a reception room, where visitors were for security checks and to wait for permission before being allowed further into the house.
Jessica arrived, making an exception to meet with Megan for the first time.
Callie wasted no time. "Jessica, Megan is innocent. The child isn't hers. Someone has taken the child of her and Leopold."
"Who took the child?" Jessica inquired.
"Megan doesn't know. We haven't found the child yet," Callie explained.
Jessica snorted, "Do you really expect me to believe that? I've arranged the hospital for her, but she chose to give birth at our rival's place. Working both sides! She's probably had an affair and couldn't give birth in the hospital out of guilt, opting instead for a secretive delivery."
Megan's face turned red in shame and guilt.
