Aurelia felt a chill creeping in, and quickly said, "We're off to breakfast now, we won't bother you, Mr. Leopold."
Avery's eyes sparkled as he pulled out a chair and sat down. "Aurelia, he's your boss, and Arno's younger brother. Might as well all eat together."
He was curious to see what was really going on here!
Aurelia silently cursed her luck. He was too comfortable with everyone. He had no manners.
"Avery, our big boss likes to dine alone, in peace."
She tugged at Avery's sleeve, but he remained unbothered, even going so far as to open the menu to order.
Leopold gave him a glance, "It's fine, let's eat together."
Aurelia wanted to vanish. She sat down, glaring at her brother from the corner of her eye.
He always causing trouble!
Arnold took a seat next to Leopold and ordered breakfast. "Ever since our father passed away, we've never had a meal together."
Leopold took a sip of his coffee, remaining silent.
Sharing a meal with him wasn't a fond memory.
Aurelia sensed some tension in the air, and quickly laughed to lighten the mood.
"It's normal for siblings to fight when they're young. Avery and I used to fight a lot. Once, he ruined my painting and blamed it on the dog. I was so mad that I beat him up, making him cry."
Avery choked on his drink. Did this happen? He didn't remember!
He laughed, not breaking character. "Despite my sister's delicate appearance, she's tough as nails. When she fights, she doesn't hold back."
Arnold looked at Aurelia with a trace of affection in his eyes. "Your sister is indeed brave."
The homeless man who tried to assault her in the subway station was left in a coma.
She was different from other women, who quickly bored him. But she always had something new and exciting about her that attracted him.
