After kissing him passionately she turned back towards Essa and then acted as if she was embarrassed by her recent action and came back to her seat.
She stuttered "Oh I'm so sorry I was just, er actually he is my ex boyfriend and I, I - I just forgot myself. I’ve tried so hard to forget him but every time I see him I lose my self-control. After our breakup I went on so many blind dates but now I'm thinking that this may be my last date, because you are quite similar to him and I can forget about him with you"
While Liza was struggling to say this Essa interrupted her in mid sentence.
"Look I'm sorry to interrupt you but this isn’t working out and I have a meeting to prepare for, so I think it best if I go now"
As he stood up from his seat and before leaving he said firmly, “I do not think we will be arranging another meeting between us"
The tone of his voice and his body language spoke louder than his words. It said how can I be second best for a girl, after all I am so handsome and rich. He shook his head and left.
Looking at this figure as he stomped away, she burst out laughing “Haha I’ve just put him right off. Good because otherwise it could have been difficult to tell him I did not want to see him again without causing offence. This way I've saved myself any embarrassing explanations.
As she was congratulating herself on the success of her plan, her eyes fell on the man who she’d kissed just now. He was staring at her coldly. There was another man sitting beside him. She walked over to them.
Putting on her best smile Liza said "Hey, I’m so sorry for what I did just now but as you may have seen, I was just trying to get away from that awful man. I’m so so sorry if I offended you."
Liza turned back without waiting for his response. Actually she was a bit intimidated by his cold unsmiling look.
As she was leaving the restaurant, her gaze fell on the figure of Julie who was crossing the road
"Hey Julie.." Liza waved at her.
Julie came to Liza and said "Hey what are you doing here. You should be with your man. Didn't you guys have a Date?"
Liza told her. "Ahh, we were having a good time but his boss called him and he had to go.
