For the first time in 28 years, Steven dared to confront Chelsea like this, deeply upsetting her.
“I want to be with Amelia. I want to marry her.”
Steven’s determination blazed through his entire being, and his words were resolute. “Apart from Amelia, I want no one else!”
“So, you’re willing to forsake your family, your mother?!” Chelsea’s voice quivered with tears as she questioned him.
“If you still want me as your son, please stop mentioning Amelia in such a way. Don’t try to hinder my love for her. But, of course, even if you tried, you can’t stop me.”
With that, Steven turned and began to walk upstairs.
“Steven! Stop right there!”
Chelsea angrily shouted at his retreating figure, “Are you trying to drive me insane?! Let me make this clear. I will never allow the daughter of a mistress to set foot in this house! Not while I’m alive!”
Steven halted in his tracks.
Chelsea felt a surge of hope, thinking he had changed his mind.
But instead, he spoke coldly. “Hunter, I advise you to stop now. Don’t attempt to free Shannon from her crimes. Otherwise, I’ll do whatever it takes to stop you.”
“Are you trying to threaten me?” Hunter retorted angrily, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
“And what if I am? You’re correct about one thing. I may be considered a dog, but I’m not like you—a mere lapdog. I’m more like a wolf. When people provoke me, I’ll bite back.”
Steven delivered the warning and left without looking back.
