The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge (Anna and Justin) novel Chapter 1512

That was not the only thing. Hunter’s assistant even added a text message to rub it in on him.

[This text message serves as my notice to resign, Mr. Lovett. You brought this on yourself because of your arrogance and self-righteousness. I’ve had enough of your abuse. I refuse to be your slave any longer! I’d have taken things into my hands a long time ago if we weren’t living in a civilized society. See you never! P/S: Congratulations on your seized business!]

Hunter scoffed, clutching his phone tremblingly.

He had never been so humiliated.

“I spoke my truth. This is the consequence of your action. You brought this on yourself.”

Clarence gritted his teeth in disappointment. “But even to this day, you show no remorse. You couldn’t stand to see Steve happy either, so you roped Mom and Dad in and used them against Steve to destroy his hard-earned happiness.

“When have you become a monster, Hunter? Are we not your family? You always wanted us to play second fiddle to you. You’d do anything to stop us from outshining or surpassing you, all to feed that deep, dark vanity of yours. You feel most happy when we live less than you.”

Red in the face, Hunter refuted. “W-What are you talking about? I never thought that!”

“You’re jealous because Steve found a nice girl like Ms. Amelia. She came from wealth and privilege. Ms. Bella and Mr. Salvador are also in her corner. You couldn’t stand that, so you talked badly about Ms. Amelia to Mom and Dad in hopes of breaking Steve and Ms. Amelia up.”

Clarence shifted his gaze to Neil. “I have learned about Charles from the inspectors and police. Charles isn’t close to Ms. Amelia as Hunter said. They hadn’t met more than a few times. Charles wanted to be associated with the Thompsons through marriage, but his dreams fell through. He colluded with Astrid to set Ms. Amelia up by drugging her and sleeping with her. That way, Chairman Thompson would marry his daughter to Charles. Thank goodness that didn’t happen.”
