“Holy shit. The chick is hot.” Blown away by Bella’s beauty, several members of Southern Star Syndicate stopped fighting.
Justin narrowed his eyes and pulled Bella into his arms to assert his dominance.
He needed to be on high alert, as his wife was too attractive.
“What are you looking at? Show some respect.” Knowing Bella was not to be messed with, Elias knocked on the ogling members’ heads.
“Stop! Stop fighting!” Arnold yelled with bloodshot eyes.
Seeing his family injured was not the reason for his anger.
Arnold did not expect to see his father, a man who always prided himself on keeping up appearances, arrive with reinforcements, create a scene, and brawl. He was behaving like a gangster.
“Alright then. Stop.” Elias yawned.
His crew had beaten the Larsons’ hired protection to a pulp anyway.
“You’re the head of the family, Dad. How could you engage in such behavior?” Arnold’s clenched fists trembled with a barely contained rage.
“You’re one to talk after you commit such a shameful act. You embarrassed the family.” Aaron barked at Arnold while holding onto his swollen face.
“Ha. A shameful act?”
Arnold smiled, his eyes reflecting valiance. “All I did was choose love, and that was the best decision I ever made in my entire life.”
Those words were a powerful affirmation for Bella and Justin.
The world’s hostility did not pull them apart. Instead, they stood firm on their feelings for each other.
