Back in his room, Christopher downed a glass of strong liquor, barely easing his anger.
“Mr. Christopher, you don’t need to get mad with that idiot.”
Taylor quickly comforted him. “His time is over, and he’s at the end of his rope. With Ms. Bella’s intelligence, she would soon trace Asher’s case back to him. Perhaps she already knows and is just waiting to act! Be patient and let the Thompson family take care of him for you.”
“Yvonne, what happened?”
Christopher coldly looked at Yvonne, who was standing timidly aside. “Without my orders, you never show yourself to entertain clients. Why did you appear in James’ room this time?”
“I…”
“Oh, Mr. Christopher, let me explain.”
Taylor quickly helped out. “I looked into it. That scumbag Charles specifically asked for Ms. Yvonne to serve him, but our men refused, and he got mad. He was smashing things and causing a ruckus in the room, even injuring two girls. Ms. Yvonne was afraid things would escalate, so she came to handle it.”
Yvonne’s heart tightened, and she lowered her head, not daring to look into Christopher’s eyes.
“If he wants to cause a scene, let him. It’s just some bottles and vases. Do you think I care?”
Christopher’s gloomy gaze landed on Yvonne’s face. “But when you show up with this face, it could cause unexpected complications. My fight with James is at a critical moment now. Do not cause trouble for me. Also, I don’t like disobedient women. If it happens again, I’ll punish you severely.”
Yvonne took a deep breath, her rose-colored lips slowly parting. “Mr. Christopher, now… My value as Ms. Bella’s substitute is gone. Going out with this face will only cause trouble for you. Why not let me regain my original appearance and become myself?”
Taylor gasped in shock. ‘God! What did Yvonne say? Did she have a death wish?!’
