This was exactly what Ryan wanted.
He did not need his delicate little wife to do anything for him. All he wanted was for her to stay home and wait for him to return home from work.
This was the happiness he had been pursuing all his life.
Ryan gazed at Carrie’s sleeping face for a long time, feeling another surge of desire in his heart.
But in the end, he restrained himself.
He bent down and kissed her gently for a while, never getting enough of it. Then he stroked her cheek and said “I love you” several times before reluctantly leaving the room.
Downstairs, Yasmin and a newly promoted secretary were respectfully waiting for Ryan.
Yasmin had become a dedicated private assistant and bodyguard for Carrie. However, Ryan needed someone reliable by his side, too, so Yasmin recommended her apprentice, Dean, for the position of Ryan’s new secretary.
“Mr. Hoffman!” The two bowed in unison.
“Yasmin, take good care of the house and Carrie.”
With Dean’s help, Ryan donned a black coat. Then, he reminded Yasmin, as usual, “If anything happens, contact me immediately. It doesn’t matter, even if I’m in a meeting. You can call me anytime. Nothing is more important than Carrie.”
“Yes, Mr. Hoffman.” Yasmin nodded earnestly.
“Master, we’re leaving now,” Dean said, looking at Yasmin with bright eyes.
“Go on. Make sure to assist Mr. Hoffman well,” Yasmin said as she gently raised her eyebrows, a bit like a worried mother.
Dean made an “OK” gesture and followed Ryan out the door.
Upon hearing the luxury car drive away, Yasmin let out a long sigh of relief and showed a knowing smile.
After all the hard work, it was finally time to reap the rewards.
