The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge (Anna and Justin) novel Chapter 1844

The person who entered was a young maid. She had previously been Linny’s best friend at Tideview Manor. Now that Carrie was back home, she had volunteered to come along and take care of Carrie.

“Why aren’t you resting at this hour?” Carrie asked gently.

“Ms. Carrie…”

The maid’s eyes flickered. After a moment of hesitation, she said, “Mr. Hoffman has been standing outside the gates of Tideview Manor for over two hours now. I heard the housekeepers talking… That’s how I found out about it.”

Carrie’s crystal-clear eyes trembled. She felt as though someone had stabbed her in the heart and twisted the knife cruelly.

“The housekeepers didn’t dare to make it known. They were afraid that it would disturb Chairman Salvador. Even if Chairman Salvador is asleep, if his secretary, Duncan, hears about this, things could get very complicated.” The maid spoke, her face full of concern.

Carrie turned back, took her phone from the table, and turned it on.

The phone buzzed frantically as call notifications flooded the screen. They were all from Ryan.

There was only one message.

[Honey, I miss you.]

Tears fell one by one onto the deeply affectionate words on the screen, but they seared fresh wounds into her heart.

These days, she thought she had gotten used to living without Ryan.

Even if she had not gotten used to it, she believed she had regained her composure.

But at this moment, the carefully constructed defenses around her heart crumbled effortlessly with just one sentence from him.

“Ms. Carrie… Why don’t you go see him secretly?” The maid urged, and her heart ached for Carrie. “You’ll regret it if you don’t.”

“But even if I go... Nothing is going to change.”
