Carrie stared at Bethany’s repulsive face for a moment.
The eyes that had once been dull and lifeless from the torture were now shining bright and clear. When her eyes met Bethany’s angry expression, it only fueled her rage even more!
“You fool! Don’t you dare look at me that way with those eyes!”
Bethany glared furiously and was about to kick her again, but was stopped by Zoe.
“Alright, alright, if you want to let out your frustration, I’ll give you time to do it later.”
At that moment, Ivan yawned lazily. “Zoe, why did you gather us from all around the world to this remote mountain? Couldn’t you have chosen a more decent place for the class reunion?”
Jason glanced at him coldly, “A decent place wouldn’t have let you witness this great show, would it? After all these years, why is your brain still like a child’s?”
“Damn it, you…”
Ivan was about to lash out angrily but was stopped just in time by the young woman in the red dress, who signaled him to hold back with a shake of her head.
The Solloway family was thriving in the political scene of Savrow. These rich kids had no morals but were exceptionally adept at currying favor and going with the flow.
“Ms. Hoffman, stop keeping us in suspense. What did you call us here for?” The man in the blue suit asked with a cheeky grin.
Relishing their curiosity, Zoe walked to the corner where an old, dusty piano stood. She lifted the lid, revealing the black and white keys, which were as new as ever.
She swiftly ran her fingers across the piano keys, creating an eerie sound that echoed through the empty living room.
Carrie curled up into a ball, her body trembling with pain. Tears streamed down her face as she was consumed by terrified hopelessness. She bit her pale lips until they bled, but she couldn’t stop the dark memories from flooding her mind.
In the past, a group of students regularly bullied her in an abandoned music classroom, and Zoe was the one who would play the piano during these cruel incidents. The combined physical and emotional abuse left her deeply traumatized, worsening her condition. Now, even the mere sound of the piano filled her with inexplicable fear.
