Ralph was burning with anxiety as time ticked away, and the interrogation of the assassin leader yielded no useful leads as well.
Firstly, the assassins were not from this country, so they could target a deputy chief without fear. Secondly, the transaction records between them and their employer were overseas, making it impossible to trace them.
These thugs would not spill anything.
……
About an hour later, the chief rushed back to Savrow overnight and sternly requested Ralph to release Owen immediately.
Ralph bore the overwhelming pressure on his end, while in the hospital, Bella personally bandaged the wound on Justin’s knuckles.
Although it was just a scratch, she was still distressed seeing it.
“Didn’t you say you would take good care of yourself? What is this then?”
“If it was five years ago, I would have walked out unscathed.” Justin’s eyes softened as he looked at her, his strong arms wrapping around her soft waist and pulling her into his embrace, holding her hand tight with his bandaged right hand. “It seems I’m getting old.”
Feeling the increasing pressure on her ass, Bella’s heart skipped a beat, and she murmured, “No, you’re as energetic as ever. You’re not old at all.”
“Is that so?”
Justin slightly narrowed his eyes. His right hand was bandaged and unable to move freely, but the fingers on his left hand were still nimble, gripping the soft flesh firmly.
“You’re right. My Bella would know the best whether I’ve aged.”
