The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge (Anna and Justin) novel Chapter 681

Chapter 681

“You brat! How dare you speak to your own father like that?” Lance was furious. If it were not for the crowd of guests, he would have slapped some sense into Christopher by now!

Aside from Wyatt Thompson, most of the older folks at the party believed in a strict approach to teaching.

Top-notch people did not need much guidance, but average folks

needed some rules. Meanwhile, troublemakers need to be seriously

disciplined.

Dealing with his son required even more than that. Christopher

needed to be taught a lesson he would never forget!

“If you showed some respect for my mother, maybe we can still

salvage what’s left of our relationship. But if you keep this up, I’ve got

harsher words for you,” Christopher said with a smirk.

His smile seemed mocking, yet his gaze was dead serious.

The fake smile made Lance feel uneasy.

At the end of the hallway, the two Iverson men confronted each other

on the terrace.

The temperature outside couldn’t match the heated tension between

them.

“What do you want?” Lance questioned him, his face as cold as frost.

“I didn’t know the true value of the gift I gave to Madam Celeste. If you think my gift outshone yours and hurt your pride, then I

apologize,” Christopher said dismissively. “After all, ignorance is

bliss, right?”

“That’s not the issue!” Lance stepped forward, his eyes filled with anger. “Why did you bring her to such an occasion? Are you trying to embarrass me or provoke me intentionally?”

Christopher burst into laughter. “I thought it was something

important, but it turns out to be just this.”

“Christopher!” Lance clenched his fists, his eyes turning red.

“Do you now find my mother repulsive? She’s the one you promised to grow old with, through good times and tough times.” Christopher’s eyes reddened. “You ignored her for fifteen years in Sentania. Now

that I’m taking care of her, who are you to call her disgusting? I

haven’t disrespected you, and that’s just me fulfilling my duty as a

son.”

“You animal!” Lance finally became furious and slapped Christopher.

Christopher’s cheek instantly swelled with his father’s handprint. Yet

he still smiled, his eyes almost bloodthirsty. “Dad, you’ve gotten weak

lately. That slap was weaker than before. Don’t my brothers usually

help you stay strong?”

“Shut up, you animal!” Lance pointed angrily at his defiant son. “Take

your mother and leave now! If you don’t, I’ll send someone to take her

away and send her back to Sentania!”

“How dare you!” Christopher clenched his fists with veins bulging on

his forehead. His fierce side sharply contrasted with his usual

calmness in front of Bella. “Tonight, I won’t hesitate to kill anyone

who dares to touch my mother!”

“You!” Lance’s eyes narrowed sharply.

He truly felt a chilling, murderous intent coming from his son’s

intense, bloodshot eyes.

“As long as the Iversons are allowed to be here, my mother has the right to stay too. And tonight, you saw that both my mother and I are guests of Ms. Bella. If you kick my mother out, it’s disrespectful to Ms. Bella. Whatever plans you have won’t work if you offend her.”

Christopher didn’t want more words with this scheming old man and

turned to leave.

“I never betrayed your mother. It was she who destroyed our

marriage, making me look like a bad guy! And because of that, I lost a daughter!”

Lance couldn’t hold back and yelled, “If she didn’t have an affair with some random guy, she wouldn’t have had a miscarriage! She could

have been the respected Mrs. Iverson, not a laughingstock!”

“I believe in my mother’s character. She loved you deeply and would

never want another man.”
