Early this morning, Julia had already reminded Brendon of their plans. But he didn't want to go.
"I have a last-minute project to discuss and I probably won't make it," Brendon said flatly.
"Sorry."
This apology surprised Ranita.
Was Brendon really not interested in getting a divorce or was it just a coincidence that he had to discuss the project?
After hanging up the phone, she was still confused.
Boulderland Mansion.
After receiving a call, Shannon swept everything off her desk in anger and cried with red eyes!
"Shannon! Don't cry! What's wrong?" Holly got the news and rushed over, feeling sorry for her friend. "Tell us what happened and we'll help you."
Shannon wiped away her tears and choked out, "Brendon didn't go with Ranita to get divorced."
"What?" Holly also jumped up in shock and said, "How is that possible? What happened?"
"Brendon said there was a last-minute project discussion in Trabury today that he couldn't make it!" Shannon felt like she had blood clot stuck in her throat but couldn't spit it out.
She had been waiting for so long, but at the critical moment, something went wrong on Brendon's side.
"Why does this project have to be discussed today? No way! I'm calling my brother now!" Holly wanted to call but was stopped by Shannon who said, "Holly, don't bother Brendon anymore. He probably didn't mean it intentionally. That project must be very important... and besides... Ranita is still hospitalized right now which isn't ideal timing."
"What do you mean 'not ideal timing'? When will be better then? We've been waiting for so long! It must be that bitch Ranita who's pretending to be pitiful just so my brother will feel sorry for her!" Holly dared not do anything against Brendon. Instead she vented all of her anger towards Ranita.
