"Holly, because of Brendon, I won't send you to the police station. But remember, if you ever shout and disturb patients in the hospital again, don't blame me for being impolite!" Steve said as he gave a nod to the security guard who had just arrived.
The guard immediately stopped Holly and escorted her out.
Holly was a rich girl who had never experienced such humiliation before.
"Steve! You've gone too far! After all these years of friendship, you're going to side with Ranita?" Holly accused Steve in anger.
Before this incident, Steve thought that Amiya had spoiled Holly too much. But now it seemed that it wasn't just about being spoiled - Holly's values were also problematic!
"Holly, I stand by what's right!" Steve paused and looked at Chris. "I'm sure Chris feels the same way."
Holly looked at Chris and saw disappointment in his eyes. She felt embarrassed and humiliated as if she was nailed to a shame pole with no face left!
Fuming with anger, Holly ran away.
Chris put the flowers on the table and sat down properly on his chair. "Sorry that Holly caused trouble for you again," he apologized.
"It has nothing to do with you guys," Ranita sighed. "Mr. Webster, why do you have time today?"
"Chris wanted to come see you earlier but Brendon is guarding here every day so he couldn't get in," Steve said lightly while crossing his arms.
"I'm sorry I couldn't come sooner," Chris smiled apologetically while asking about her health status.
In fact, Chris had put in a lot of effort looking for Ranita but there was no need to mention it now.
"There's nothing wrong anymore! The doctor said I can be discharged from the hospital."
"That's great then! We have nothing else planned this afternoon so let us take you home!" Steve checked his watch before suggesting they celebrate over lunch together.
They enjoyed their lunch very much together.
Steve went back to work at the hospital while Chris accompanied Ranita back home for her first time since she got sick.
