The Divorcee Who Shines novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55 Anticipation

"Giggles, giggles, giggles!" Ranita's dreams were filled with laughter that night.

She used to have mixed feelings about the unexpected pregnancy, but now she found herself filled with anticipation and love for the baby.

The next morning when Dylan arrived, Ranita shared her discovery from the previous night. Dylan's eyes widened in excitement as he asked eagerly, "Really? Can I feel it?"

As Dylan reached out to touch Ranita's belly, Steve grabbed his hand and pulled him back. "What are you doing? Men and women don't touch like that! You have some nerve!" Steve raised an eyebrow.

Ever since finding out they were on the same side of things, Dylan no longer saw Steve as an outsider. He hooked his arm around Steve's neck and grinned mischievously. "Don't you want to feel the baby too?"

Of course Steve did want to feel it but he was a doctor after all!

Ranita was only two months pregnant so what she felt probably wasn't fetal movement yet, but seeing how happy she looked made him not want to spoil her mood.

"It is indeed amazing but let's not scare ourselves since the baby is still small," said Steve after a pause before pulling away from Dylan's grip while muttering coldly under his breath, "Don't get too close. We're not that familiar."

Steve was quite familiar with Chris, but he didn't really have much of a relationship with Dylan.

The main reason was that the Webster family dynamics were quite complicated! Chris was the eldest son of the Webster family, and his biological mother passed away. Dylan, on the other hand, was the child of the second Mrs. Webster! It wouldn't have been a big deal, but the fact that the second Mrs. Webster came into the family with a child made Mrs. Webster and Dylan looked down upon.

The privileged second-generation individuals in Kurima didn't really associate much with Dylan. However, Dylan's good nature and friendly personality had allowed him to make many friends on his own. Additionally, having the support of the Webster family and his own business endeavors, he had been able to establish himself with confidence and success.
