‘So what are you planning to do after this wedding....attend more weddings huh? Ariel asked coolly.
“More weddings? No, one else I know is getting married in the immediate future, so I don’t think I have any more social activity this year,” she replied to his query.
He met her glance with a glinting one of his own. “You are happy just doing the social rounds aren't you?”
After a few minutes, Marcela replied, “Actually I am planning to start my own business.”
Ariel's gaze sharpened. “Wow, you surprised me, princess, I thought you had settled into being the best TV presenter and an occasional model.”
“Well, I decided that my designer needed a new one.” She told him with amusement in her voice.
“Poor girl, she was dumped by that designer,” Adric commented.
“Yeah looks like it,” Ariel said thoughtfully unaware of what was going on in her head.
She was fed up with Dana her designer who had hired her to model her clothes and gave her a fixed salary every month but recently she had been noticing that she was eager to hire a new model rather than use her so she decided to call it quits.
She had no illusions as to why Dana had originally chosen her back then, she had the social circle and Dana wanted to get closer to her circle. She had become the face of her designs at every social event representing her designs and because of her, she was getting famous. But it had always been a problematic relationship, although Dana referred to her as her favourite model she had never allowed her to speak her opinion. And now that she had made her reputation she did not need her anymore.
So Marcela decided to quit instead of being dragged like a lifeless doll all around the social events.
Ariel looked at her for a few seconds and asked curiously, “So what are you planning to invest in, maybe I can help?”
“Tourism and hospitality.” She answered.
“She is amazing !” Adric exclaimed and Ariel rolled his eyes.
She was looking forward to it. She had just gotten a small inheritance from her maternal grandfather who was a very rich businessman in Sweden. And added to the money she had earned from her modelling career would provide enough money for her brother to finish his university and her living expenses and with the rest of it she could start a new business.
“I suppose you have figured everything out. Will you continue presenting on television?” Ariel's dismissive tone made it quite clear what he thought of her profession.
“Of course.” loyalty to her producer made her give him, the first stiff response.
“They took a chance on me and I have always done my best to live up to their expectation.”
Why on earth was she justifying herself to this man? She wondered.
She tried to ignore a turbulent flutter beneath her ribs when she met his enigmatic gaze.
