The Duke and The Werewolf Princess novel Chapter 6

“ Are you feeling scared Princess”

“Ariel my name is Marcela,” She stated a little furiously as she was annoyed with the mockery in his voice. “And is there a reason, I have to be afraid of you?”

She could see him watching her with interest and her stomach felt as though she were standing on the edge of a high Cliff. She knew that Ariel was way out of her league. But she wanted to take her brother away, with her for a short trip as even she needed a break just like him.

She looked across the ballroom where her brother was laughing with a group of young men one of whom was his greatest friend, the son of the duke who was living in self-exile away from home. He was young Lenny the son of a well-known politician who had introduced him to the excitement of the outside sport and adventures. And together they had come up with the idea of going into the countryside and having fun.

She was tired of her brother vanishing away all of a sudden from home and coming back after a fortnight or even after a month but this time it was the longest as he vanished for almost three months. He wouldn't have come back if she had not insisted. And Arthur was like an elder brother to him, so he couldn't refuse him.

She was thinking that if she took him away for a holiday to the other side of the world it might just change his perspective of things around him.

Ariel spoke bluntly” You don't have anything to fear from me, Marcela.”

Color heated her skin. “I know that Ariel,” she said on a note that probably sounded a bit ambiguous.

As though she hadn't spoken, Ariel went on, “And as for your stay that won't be a problem either as I live in a huge old mansion with enough bedrooms. And I have maids and helpers to take care of the property so you need not worry about anything.”

The hairs on the back of Marcela’s neck lifted with excitement as she listened to his proposal.

Although Ariel's tone was pleasant, it was all so impersonal, and his offer to host her brother as well-meant that he had he did not expect her to fall into his bed. And wondered, I thinking too much.....

Nerves tingling she said. “It’s not possible.”

But Ariel must have noticed that moment of weakness because he said. “Why not” and when she hesitated he went on, “why don't you ask your brother know what he feels about it?”

“Oh man, you are getting desperate now,” Adric growled but Ariel was too busy coaxing Marcela and didn’t pay attention to him.

Marcela was very sure that he would refuse for sure. “OK, I will do that now.”

She looked across the room, intercepted by her brother who stood across from them, lean and athletic and who had spent most of the past three months roaming around in the wilderness and the countryside.

Eremis Anderson was arrogant in his own way not because he belonged to a royal family but because he thought he was too handsome and charming for his good, but he never fell for anyone as he thought that girls were a nuisance and he was too young to indulge himself in their beautiful trap.

He was just twenty but everything about him was restrained from the short style of his wonderfully gold-colored hair, the tailored dark suit that he always wore over a white shirt and matched with a discreetly subdued silk tie. The women of his age would ogle him and follow him wherever he would go but Eremis was emotionally unreserved because of the incident that happened to his parents. The only one he was close to was his sister.
