Right now, his eagerness was pretty easy to spot.
The door upstairs was wide open, and the guy didn't hesitate at all. He strutted up the stairs and straight into the room. The servant at the door could feel a chill breeze sweep over his face.
At this point, the woman on the bed had finally settled down, with her eyes peacefully shut, deep in sleep.
Inside the room, the woman's personal maid and the doctor, along with his assistants, stood respectfully off to the side. The guy gave them a cold once-over, his voice low and serious, "What happened?!"
They all hesitated for a moment. The personal maid was the first to speak, "Sir."
The man suddenly raised his hand to cut her off. He looked at the calm sleeping woman on the bed, then said in a low voice, "Meet me in the study."
...
Among the countless viewers tuning in to this live stream. There was one guy, sitting on a black leather couch. Dressed head to toe in black, he blended into the couch, giving off a strange vibe.
The room was pretty dim, the only light source being the flickering LCD screen. The light danced on the man's face, highlighting his devilish good looks.
When he saw the moment Chloe was choking Keira on the screen, he cracked a small smile.
He leaned over to pick up the wine glass on the table in front of him. The red wine in the glass reflected a little light from the screen.
As he raised his glass to the cold and ruthless woman on the screen. His low, wicked voice rang out in the dark room, "Welcome back."
He tossed back the rest of the wine in his glass, then put the glass down.
From the corner, a man stepped forward, respectfully saying, "Sir."
The man lounged on the couch. His long arm draped over the back, watching the woman on the screen, chuckling, "Ned, she's back."
Ned's eye twitched slightly, but he didn't say anything.
"Do you reckon. Being so smart, how could she forget to come home?" The man mused, a hint of fondness and helplessness in his eyes.
However, this attitude sent a chill down Ned's spine.
"Go. It's time to bring her back." He said.
Ned hesitated for a moment, took a deep breath, and said, "Yes," then left the room.
...
The Harper Group CEO's office was still eerily quiet.
Nathan glanced at Damon, noticing the cold and fierce look in his eyes.
Nathan didn't say anything, just pursed his lips slightly. Kane seemed to pick up on the tense atmosphere, and couldn't help but shudder.
"Your wife, she's quite something!" Kane nervously watched Damon's expression.
Damon stared intently at the computer screen, not responding.
Kane stood up and said, "Oh. I just remembered. I have a meeting at the company. Gotta go now."
If he had to stay in this suffocating atmosphere any longer, he might just pass out!
Soon after Kane left, Nathan stayed silent for a while. He then seriously said to Damon, "Your wife's gaze and moves. Are you sure you don't want to check it out?"
