"Did you think I was joking? As a doctor, I have to break it to you that you indeed have some health issues. You have to fix the contrary forces in your body. Having sexual intercourse with your boyfriend will do the trick."
Rendered speechless, Rachel widened her eyes. She'd thought Matthew would come up with something else, but little did she expect him to say such things blatantly under the guise of professionalism.
Having sexual intercourse with her boyfriend—it was basically himself! He was still lusting after her body. And his audacity to claim that she was ill certainly riled her up.
"Matthew, y-you've gone too far!"
Matthew sighed, knowing Rachel didn't believe him. But as a doctor, he would've said the same thing even if another patient came to him for treatment.
His relationship with Rachel was unique, after all. While she was his girlfriend, she was also his patient. He had no choice but to delay his plans since she didn't believe him.
"Forget about the treatment if you're unwilling to. But I believe you'll come to realize what I said was the truth in the future."
Rachel pouted. He still had the gall to insist on his opinion. At this point, she'd lost interest in treating him to a meal.
"Let's go back to the company."
They took the elevator to the basement parking lot. Aside from the clacking of Rachel's heels reverberating in the air as she led the way, the basement parking lot was devoid of any noise.
Matthew glanced around. Something felt off—it was oddly quiet.
Suddenly, the door of a car in front of them flung open. A brawny man emerged, crossing his arms as he stood in their way.
Rachel immediately took a few steps backward and stood in front of Matthew.
The sound of another car door opening sounded from behind them. Matthew spun around, only to spot five men emerging from a car with metal bats. Scowling at Matthew and Rachel, they blocked their path.
Clutching onto Matthew's arm, Rachel squeaked, "What do we do now?"
Matthew's fingers brushed past her soft hands. He chuckled and said, "Don't worry. I'll protect you."
