Rachel stared at the scene before her in disbelief. What was going on? Terry had never been easy to talk to, and he'd been so harsh to her earlier. Why was he being so respectful to Matthew now?
Matthew turned Terry down. "I'm busy. I don't have time for lunch with you. We can eat when it's time for your next treatment session!"
He headed over to Rachel. Seeing that she was still dazed, he said, "Let's go!"
"Huh? Okay."
She returned to her senses. She wanted to ask about Terry's decision to pull out his investment but could only suppress her curiosity when Matthew didn't say anything.
It looked like she would have to wait until they left the building before she could get answers.
Terry smiled at her and said, "I'm sorry for my earlier rudeness, Ms. Carter. Don't mind me. Just know that I won't pull out my investment anymore. If you need any help, just say the word. I promise I'll get it done for you!"
Rachel felt like she was dreaming. She didn't expect Matthew to resolve the problem so easily.
…
Meanwhile, Sheldon's expression twisted more with every passing second. It had been 14… 15… 16 minutes! Why were they taking so long? Had Terry changed his mind? It couldn't be!
He had faith in Terry's promise and believed the latter wouldn't change his mind just because Rachel had come in person. Still, he couldn't help becoming increasingly agitated.
He checked his watch. 17 minutes had passed, but Rachel and Matthew had yet to come out.
He was about to head inside to check on things when the door opened. Rachel and Matthew walked out with big smiles on their faces. Terry was behind them as he walked them out.
How had things turned out like this? Sheldon was baffled. Terry had promised him! Why had he suddenly changed his mind?
When he saw the broad grins on Rachel's and Matthew's faces, his expression turned steely, and he stormed off.
