Matthew said vaguely, "I'm a traditional doctor, and they are too. I'm here to network with them."
A traditional doctor? The man had already gone down to the first floor. He paused in his tracks and looked up at Matthew.
"A traditional doctor? Are you still practicing?"
Matthew shook his head. He was now Rachel's driver. Traditional medicine was just something he did on the side.
Technically speaking, he was just someone who knew how to use traditional medicine. He wasn't a practicing doctor.
But he didn't want to hide it, so he said, "I'm a driver."
The man let out a bitter smile. "I'm a traditional doctor too, but now, I'm a loon." After that, he looked at Matthew and said, "Sawyer Solomon is my father. My name is Silas Solomon.
"Tell me what you want from me. But I'mma make it clear that if my dad owed you money, you can keep your pie hole shut because I can't afford it. That house belongs to someone else now. I don't have a single penny to my name."
Matthew never could have expected that he would be Sawyer's son. He didn't dare to ask him about the Gugleni Compendium with him in this state.
After a while, he said, "My mentor and your father were probably really close friends. If you need my help, just say the word and I'll help you."
Help him? Silas shook his head. "You're a traditional doctor who's been turned into a driver. You couldn't even save yourself. What can you do for me? Make me a cab driver?"
Matthew could hear the pent-up frustration in his voice as if Silas had run into a tough predicament.
"I'm a driver because my girlfriend is a CEO. I drive her around so that we can spend more time together. It's not as pitiful of a job as you make it out to be."
