The Husband Hidden Behind Her novel Chapter 2

Three years later.

It was a dazzling night with luxury cars spotted at the entrance of South City’s Hilton Hotel. Reporters and their cameras swamped the place. Centurion Group was organizing a cocktail party, and they had invited South City's business tycoons to attend. The reporters had gathered there in hopes of getting exclusives to make tomorrow's headlines.

Around eight o’clock that evening, an impressive Maybach pulled up to the entrance.

"It's Mr. Quimby! Mr. Quimby from Centurion Group has arrived!” The reporters immediately rushed forward with their cameras.

Zachary Quimby had donned a white suit, and he had an arrogant smile on his face when he got out of the car. Supermodel Lulu, who was wearing a gorgeous strapless evening gown, got out from the other side. Zachary reached out and held her hand as they posed for the cameras.

Yvonne was in the front passenger seat, looking at Zachary and Lulu through the car window with a briefcase in her hands. ’Who on earth will drag their assistant to a party? Zachary Quimby must be crazy!'

Yvonne was still thinking to herself when the driver spoke up next to her, "Assistant Yates, please get out o f the car! The young master will not be pleased if we're late!" 1

She sighed. While grabbing onto the briefcase, she lowered her head and opened the car door.

Zachary and Lulu were almost reaching the hotel entrance. As she quickened her steps to catch up, she heard the reporters behind her gasp, "It's Jackson Miller! Jackson Miller is here too!" i

Yvonne instinctively turned her head once she heard the name 'Jackson Miller'. A luxurious Aston Martin pulled up to the hotel's entrance, and security guards went forward to open the doors. Jackson got out of the car, dressed in a dashing black suit. Even after three years, he was still as captivating as before.

Yvonne got lost in her thoughts. The guards proceeded to open the other side door to let Fiona out o f the car. She was wearing a crimson evening gown and had a shy smile on her face as she slowly stepped out.

"Wow! What a beautiful couple!”

"Who would disagree? One is the beloved daughter of a secretary, whereas the other is the owner of a major shopping mall. They are perfect for each other!"

As the reporters were commenting out loud around her, Yvonne looked at the beautiful couple and smiled coldly. Of course, the cheating man and his mistress would be perfect for each other!

She was done looking at the disgusting couple and quickly turned back to run after Zachary. Zachary and Lulu had already gotten into the elevator. When she realized that the elevator doors were about to close, Yvonne dashed forward and used her arm to hold the doors from shutting. As she got into the elevator, Zachary snickered and said, "Assistant Yates, you seem to enjoy scaring people, don’t you?"
