In order to keep his company's star designer, Natalia, from leaving, William was willing to agree to any absurd conditions, especially if it only meant keeping her identity a secret. So, without any hesitation, he agreed to Natalia's conditions and allowed her to work remotely, having the office interns deliver her design drafts daily.
William's company was on the rise, and as any good CEO would do, he was looking to expand his operations. His gaze fell on the distant land of Melfort. The most influential corporation in Melfort was the Andersen Corporation.
In order to successfully penetrate the Melfort market, William sent all of Natalia’s bestselling designs to the Andersen Corporation, hoping that these perfect creations would catch the eye of Andersen's top brass.
Soon, William knew he was on the right track. The President of the Andersen Corporation was coming for a personal visit. This was a golden opportunity. With half an hour to spare before Magnus, the President of Andersen Corporation, arrived at his company, William rushed to call Natalia. Respecting Natalia and keeping his promise, he dialed Natalia's number to seek her approval.
At that moment, Natalia was enjoying the morning sun, stretching comfortably. Hector had set the breakfast on the table - two glasses of orange juice, a few slices of whole wheat bread, and a tossed garden salad. He heard Natalia's phone ring and called out, "Natalia, breakfast is ready. Also, your phone is ringing. Better answer it."
Upon hearing this, Natalia wiped off her sweat, walked towards the open-plan dining room, and took the phone that Hector handed her. "Hello, who is this?" She asked cheerfully.
William's voice came from the other end of the line. He sounded ecstatic. "Natalia, get ready quickly. We need to head to the airport."
Confused, Natalia asked, "William, didn't we agree? I only handle design drafts, and I'm not involved in anything else. Can I pass on this airport pick-up?"
Upon hearing this, William got anxious. "Yes, I did agree to your conditions, but this is our best chance to break into the oversea market. They're specifically asking to meet you. For the sake of the company, can you make an exception, Natalia?"
Natalia was silent for a moment. She really disliked formalities, which was why she had initially been asked to do only design drafts. But considering how respectful William had always been to her, she couldn't decline his request. She sighed and agreed.
"Alright, but can I ask which company it is?" Natalia asked, a hint of worry in her voice. She had never heard of a company wanting to meet the designer just based on the design drafts.
As soon as William heard that Natalia had agreed, he was overjoyed. "As long as you're coming, that's all that matters. I'll pick you up. You should know which company it is, right? It's the globally renowned Andersen Corporation. If we can secure their investment, breaking into the oversea market will be a breeze."
While William was confidently explaining this, Natalia was dumbfounded. "Wait, the Andersen Corporation? The one based in Melfort?"
"Exactly!" William said, brimming with confidence. "It's incredibly rare for a small company like ours to be noticed by a world-class conglomerate like them. We need to seize this opportunity and can't afford any mistakes."
