Natalia cast a puzzled glance at Magnus. “Something’s off with you today. Did something happen again?”
Magnus didn’t want Natalia to worry, so he kept the harassing phone call he received to himself. Instead, he made up a flimsy excuse.
“Honey, I just watched a video of a mall on fire. It reminded me of our narrow escape that one time, and I got this wave of chills. So, I drove back as fast as I could, scared you might’ve snuck out for some fun and landed yourself in trouble...”
He quickly corrected himself. “Knock on wood! Forget I said anything. Just a bunch of nonsense!”
“Alright, alright,” Natalia said as she playfully placed her hand over Magnus’ mouth. “I know you’re worried about me. I promise I won’t step outside without your say-so. Happy now?”
“That’s not enough. You’ll need to video call me while I’m tied up at the office. That’s the only way I’ll be at ease.” Magnus was about to insist but then reconsidered, “Actually, forget it. You’ll be due soon. Maybe I should just stay home and leave the office work to Gabby.”
Shaking her head with amusement, Natalia replied, “How can you be so lazy? It’s your company, after all. She can’t make all the decisions for you, can she? Don’t worry, I’m sure we’re safe now.”
Though Natalia reassured him, Magnus couldn’t shake his unease. He kissed her forehead tenderly and whispered, “You know, I’m invincible in the business world. But you, my dear, are my Achilles’ heel. So please, take care of yourself because, without you, my life would be meaningless.”
Touched, Natalia pulled him closer and sealed her promise with a deep kiss, murmuring softly, “Yes, we’re like two swans in flight, only complete when together. I thank my lucky stars for bringing you into my life to love and stand by.”
The kiss stirred emotions in Magnus, and he felt a familiar urge. But this was no time for unspoken desires.
“You’re too much for me,” he complained with a fake frown. “I need to take a cold shower right now, or I’ll be tempted to...”
“Once the baby comes, you’ll owe me big time.” With that, Magnus rushed off to the bathroom as if chased by fire.
Natalia chuckled to herself. This man, was icy to everyone else, and only showed his true colors around her.
Post-shower, feeling cooled and collected, Magnus grabbed his phone and called Paul, instructing him to fly to Hawaii immediately and bring extra muscle from the family’s trusted bodyguards.
Loyal as ever, Paul complied without question and went to gather the men.
That afternoon, the Andersen family’s private jet touched down on the golden sands of Hawaii, unloading eight towering bodyguards with the poise and power of trained fighters. Paul led them straight to Magnus’ villa for inspection.
As Natalia and Magnus enjoyed the sun, she noticed the entourage and asked, “What’s Paul up to, bringing all these people?”
