The Indifferent Ex-Husband: Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate novel Chapter 404

When the bodyguards heard the shouting, they quickly pushed the door open and entered. Upon seeing Aaron in the room, both their faces turned pale. Without waiting for Daniel and Patricia to give any orders, the two bodyguards smartly stepped forward and grabbed Aaron.

"Mr. Yearwood, sorry, Chairman Crawley needs to rest. Could you please step outside?"

Without further ado, they started dragging him out.

Aaron couldn't break free and had to hurriedly call out to Daniel and Patricia, "My dear in-laws, I brought you some tonics. They're in the bag by the bed. Don't forget to take them."

Before he could finish his sentence, he was already hauled out of the ward.

Aaron was fuming inside but also worried he might have offended Daniel too much. He raised his voice, trying to smooth things over, "My dear in-laws, we're all family here. If I said anything wrong, don't take it to heart. I'll talk to Sophia if she's out of line, it's not a big deal. Please, don't let this upset you. Once Brandon is back, I'll have her come with him to visit you."

His strained voice faded away with his footsteps.

Inside the room, Daniel was so angry he was breathing heavily, struggling to catch his breath.

Patricia was patting his chest, whispering soothing words, telling him to not get worked up. But Daniel's expression grew worse and just as he was about to speak, his head tilted and he collapsed.

"Daniel!"

Patricia was horrified, repeatedly calling his name while frantically pressing the call bell and shouting for the bodyguards outside.

Brandon was still in a meeting, sitting at the head of the long table, calmly listening to the reports from his subordinates.

Kent was sitting at the first seat to his right, also paying attention to the reporting staff.

Brandon's phone on his desk lit up.

He glanced at it. The light was persistent, indicating an incoming call.

Brandon picked up the phone and saw it was a call from Yvonne.

A slight frown creased his brow as he looked at the subordinate still giving their report. He made a pause gesture, then stood up with the phone and headed for the door.

"Hello?" He answered the call.

"Brandon, Dad's been rushed to the emergency room again, you better come back fast."

Yvonne's voice, tinged with tears, came through the phone as soon as the call connected.

Brandon's steps faltered slightly.
