The Indifferent Ex-Husband: Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate novel Chapter 405

"What's it got to do with her?" Brandon looked at Patricia and asked.

"How can it not be her business?" Patricia was fuming at this point, and she wasn't holding back, "Just the other day she had dinner with her brother and her dad, no clue what they chatted about, but next thing we know her brother's knocking on our door."

Patricia was even more heated talking about this. "We've kicked him out with the bodyguards a few times before, never saw him try to force his way in. But this time, who knows what kind of wind Sophia blew in his ear, he even came up with the dirty trick of dressing up as a cleaner to sneak in, not sure what he's plotting."

"Aaron is Aaron, Sophia is Sophia." Brandon enunciated every word, looking at Patricia, "I'd appreciate it if you didn't always pin Aaron's screw-ups on Sophia. Aaron's a grown man capable of making his own decisions."

"You can't get two different people from the same pot." Patricia was still irate, couldn't help but whip out her phone, pulling up the photo of Sophia and Haley eating together the other day, and then turned the phone towards Brandon, "Do I look like I'm making this up? You set up the bodyguards, if you don't believe me you can ask them. Every time Aaron came over, didn't he leave politely after the bodyguards talked to him? If Sophia hadn't said something to him, with his brains, do you think he could come up with the idea to disguise himself as a cleaner?"

Brandon glanced at the photo, then looked at her coldly. "Just kick the habit of sneakily taking pictures of people. You're invading their privacy. As for their meeting, it's just a family having a meal together, couldn't be more normal. Please don't project your biases and filthy thoughts onto others."

With that, Brandon turned and walked away.

Patricia's face was as dark as the bottom of a pot, she coldly said to Yvonne.

"I don't know what kind of love potion that woman fed your brother. She's led your dad to this state, and your brother still takes her side."

Yvonne couldn't stand it anymore. "Mom, you can't just say that. Sophia has always been out of the picture, and we can't just blame her for Dad's situation. As for her brother, we're just guessing without any evidence. It's not a crime for siblings to have a meal together."

"What do you know?" Patricia gave her a cold glare. "If it weren't for her, your brother wouldn't be at odds with your dad, and your dad wouldn't have ended up in the hospital. She's the root of all evil here, why can't we blame her?"

"So if you choke on your meal, should you blame the person who invented bread?"

Yvonne mumbled under her breath, then fell silent under Patricia's icy stare, not daring to make another peep.

"I'm going to check on Dad in the ward."

She whispered and quickly made herself scarce.

Having been strictly managed since childhood, she was still a bit afraid of her mom.

When Yvonne got back to the ward, Brandon was still there, staring at the comatose Daniel, lost in thought.

"Brandon."

Yvonne called out softly.

Brandon looked back at her. "You go home first, I'll stay with him tonight."

Yvonne hesitated and then nodded. "Okay."

Still worried, she looked at him. "Are you going to be alright here by yourself? How about I take over in the wee hours?"

"No need, you've had a tough time recently, get some good rest at home."

Brandon said calmly.
