The Killer Queen ( Noella Briony ) novel Chapter 258

Noella was all mixed up inside!

Emotions were like a foreign country to her; she'd never really visited.

Whenever she was around Palmer, her heart would race uncontrollably.

Was this what a crush felt like? If not, then what was it?

Palmer looked into Noella’s eyes earnestly, pulling a handkerchief from his pocket to gently wipe the blood off her hands.

"Is your brother okay?”

"He’s just knocked out. We'll ask him what happened when he wakes up."

As Noella spoke, she noticed Palmer suddenly pulling her hand closer to sniff it!

"It’s just chicken and duck blood, no worries."

Watching this man carefully clean each of her fingers before casually wiping the blood off his own hands warmed Noella's heart.

“Thank you.”

“If you really want to thank me, can I hug you?”

There was a playful glint in Palmer's eyes as his tall frame cast a protective shadow over Noella, as if embracing her.

Meeting Palmer’s gaze, Noella's heart skipped a beat again.

“Okay…”

Just as a smile flickered across Palmer's face and he reached out towards Noella, a shout echoed from inside the house.

“Noella! Are you out there?”

Noella pushed Palmer away and ran towards the house. “Stirling, I'm here!”

Palmer looked at his empty hands, still feeling Noella's presence linger.

He was so close to holding her…

With a sigh of resignation mixed with a wry smile, Palmer followed Noella inside.

Stirling rubbed his head, looking up at Noella kneeling before him.

"Noella, what are you doing here?”

"Stirling, never mind that. What happened to you and Yasbel? How did you end up here? You've been missing from the set for almost three days.”

Stirling was shocked. “That long? No wonder you're here! I'm so sorry, Noella.”

Noella shook her head, helping Stirling to his feet.

Yasbel, also groggily coming to, looked at Noella and the hurriedly arrived Nolan, then drifted back to sleep.

The crew arriving at the scene were also drenched in cold sweat, frantically checking on both of them before taking them back to Glen Village.

Stirling, sitting in Maddox’s backyard, had to eat several bowls of spaghetti to come back to his senses. Wiping his mouth, he began to recall the events of the past few days.

That night, as Stirling was about to lay down.

He always felt a pang of sadness whenever he laid in Noella's tiny room. The room was no bigger than the bathroom in his own room at Schnabel Manor, barely accommodating his tall frame.

The old, bulky wardrobe and the bed made by the village's elderly carpenter with somewhat damp wood materials made him think of how his sister and grandmother had lived in such conditions for years!
