They were trying to cut corners. But instead of a bargain, they lost a child! This was not what they had intended!
Noella spoke calmly, "Jasper, taking in another child isn't much of an issue for our family, but human snatchers should still be caught. Imagine the danger they pose."
"My sister has a point."
Jasper wholeheartedly agreed with Noella's decision!
In the face of such people, they had to show their strength!
The middle-aged woman opposite them started to panic.
"Jasper, you're a lawyer, how can you break the law? Tina is clearly our child; she has nothing to do with you guys!"
"Your child is registered under my sister's name, which makes her my sister's child. You are now human traffickers."
Ordinary parents turned into traffickers! And this was all their own doing!
Jasper stood up, "You have three days to sort this out, or you can think about your child from jail."
Facing Noella and Jasper's resolute gaze, the middle-aged couple slumped into their chairs!
The man, baffled, slapped the woman across the face.
"Whose child is Tina? Mine or that deadbeat Austin's?"
"Of course, she's yours..."
The more the man thought, the angrier he got, taking all his frustrations out on the woman!
Behind them, Noella raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Jasper, Ms. Darcy's case should be winnable, right?"
"It wasn't before, but now it is. Who do you think I am? This is a minor issue!"
"How did their child end up registered under me?"
Jasper stroked Noella's hair, somewhat helplessly.
"It's not uncommon. Just last month, I handled several cases where the registry staff took bribes, thinking no one would notice, and just let it slide."
They never thought such a thing would involve Noella!
Jasper checked his phone. "Shall I take you home? I need to head to the law firm."
"No need, I'm meeting Beckett for dinner. I'll just go to Beckett’s company."
Beckett's Rising Glory Group was nearby.
After dropping Noella off at the Rising Glory Group, Jasper hurried off to meet his clients.
…
Outside the Azure store.
A young girl, arms filled with shopping bags, pointed at Kitai, furious.
"I'm a customer, why won't you let me shop?"
"Sorry, ma'am, Azure only serves clients with appointments."
"Can't I make an appointment now?"
Kitai maintained a professional smile. "Of course, you can make an appointment for another day and come back then."
"I won't come back in a few days if I make an appointment now."
Facing this persistent customer, Kitai discreetly rolled his eyes.
Who didn’t know Azure's rules?
