Chloe was sobbing uncontrollably, barely managing to choke out apologies.
Jasper gently patted her shoulder. "Come on, let's head to the hospital and check on you."
Millie grabbed Chloe, who was now a puddle of nerves, and followed the Schnabel clan into the car.
On the drive, Sienna and Tristan were on the verge of tears too!
"Noella, why'd you have to go and do something so reckless? You're going to give Mom a heart attack!"
Noella, with a chuckle, shrugged. "Didn't think it through, I guess."
Her instinct had just kicked in.
Chloe, sitting in the limo's backseat, was a mess of tears, teetering on the edge of a breakdown.
"I'm so sorry, Ms. Schnabel. I dragged you into this mess..."
Millie wrapped an arm around Chloe, comforting her. "Hey now, it's not your fault."
Palmer checked Noella’s swollen wrist, concern etching his features. Her fair skin was now blotched red, likely dislocated. If Noella hadn't been a highly trained secret agent, catching a girl mid-fall, she might have lost the use of her hands entirely.
Palmer felt a pang of sympathy. "Hold still."
Jasper interjected, "Mr. Pollack, you're no doctor. Let's wait for Ulrich to take a look at Noella's wrist at the hospital!"
He was worried Palmer might worsen his sister's injury.
"No worries, Jasper. He's got this. I trust Palmer," Noella reassured him.
With those words, Jasper found himself speechless, fretting over her wrist.
With a firm grip, Palmer found the dislocation and swiftly corrected it with a snap.
"Does it hurt?"
"No, it's bearable."
This minor pain was nothing for Noella, but seeing the worried faces of Palmer and Tristan made it feel more intense than usual.
Leaning on Palmer's shoulder, as soon as they arrived at the hospital, Noella was scooped up and rushed to meet Ulrich Schnabel at the entrance, heading straight for the treatment room.
Surrounded by her concerned family, Noella couldn’t help but smile wryly.
"Really, I'm fine. Palmer's fixed it."
Calvin, arriving in a flurry, was beside himself with worry.
"Don't you know how vital hands are for a surgeon? You're too impulsive!"
"Who tries to catch someone jumping off a building? That's madness! You think you're some kind of superhero? You're not Iron Man!"
Calmly, Noella responded, "If I hadn't caught her, she would've died. And as a doctor, I couldn't just stand by."
