In this world, not every country or region was as peaceful and prosperous as it was in Oskia. There were perennial wars in many regions, and so, mercenaries simply bloomed and prospered in such places.
Most mercenaries were a bunch of desperados who did not have any sense of justice and were all only working for money. They would serve and give their lives for anyone who could give them money. Moreover, some of these mercenaries were also dependent on certain countries for survival such as the famous Blackwater Company in the United States. They trained a large number of mercenaries specifically to provide services to the United States government. The participation of the mercenaries from Blackwater Company was basically inseparable i n almost all of the United States military operations in the Middle East. Moreover, they would also step in to d o anything that would be inconvenient for the government to do on their own. 2
Ten Thousand Armies belonged to the first kind.
After Hamed listened to the introduction of Ten Thousand Armies, he was frustrated, and he asked offhandedly, "It would cost at least up to tens of millions of US dollars a day to hire ten thousand
mercenaries from Ten Thousand Armies, right?"
The deputy commander hurriedly said, "Commander, the price of Ten Thousand Armies is extremely high. The cost of the ordinary mercenaries under their command is one or two thousand US dollars a day, and the price of the officers is even higher, and some o f them cost more than tens of thousands of US dollars a day. It is said that any single one of the Four War Kings under their command costs hundreds of thousands of dollars a day..."
Hamed was dumbfounded as he asked, "Seriously? Why is it so expensive?!" 4
The deputy commander explained, "The reason why Ten Thousand Armies has risen in recent years is due to its superior combat power and effectiveness. All of their mercenaries are well-trained, especially their core cadre members. All of them are top soldiers, and they are all the best amongst the mercenaries regardless of whether it is their individual combat capability or their overall coordinated combat capability. The only problem is their really high price, and most people simply cannot afford to hire them."
Hamed frowned and said, "According to this calculation, the cost of these ten thousand mercenaries should be more than twenty million US dollars a day, right?!" 1
"Yes." The deputy commander wiped his sweat and said nervously, "I also received news that one of the Four War Kings also came here this time! It is said that this person can defeat one hundred people on his own on the battlefield!" 3
