Kathleen was blindsided by Charlie's warm attitude, and viewed Charlie like a gentle spring breeze that warmed her heart.
As she looked into Charlie's sincere eyes, Kathleen began to feel a little guilty. She felt guilty for lying to Charlie the whole time. For a moment, she had the urge to confess everything to him.
However, her Grandpa was waiting for the Rejuvenating Pill to extend his life.
Remembering that, she could only suppress her urge to confess.
She thought to herself, 'If Grandpa can win the Rejuvenating Pill on the auction, then I'll confess to Mr. Wade and ask for his forgiveness as soon as possible..."
At the same time, Charlie saw Kathleen
looking at himself in a daze. Puzzled, he asked, "Ms. Jane, is everything okay?"
Kathleen came back to her senses and hurriedly hid her feelings. "Oh, it's nothing ... I'll be going now, Mr. Wade."
"Okay." Charlie nodded and reminded her again, “Please remember to give me a call if you need any help."
"Sure!" Kathleen thanked him again before reluctantly getting out of the car.
She bade goodbye to Charlie, waving at him. She watched Charlie's car drive away, and then rushed back to her presidential suite.
On the way to her room, she called to inform Sherry and the rest to gather for an emergency meeting in her room.
Once she arrived at the room, all her entourage, with the exception of Julian, were sitting in the small meeting room of the presidential suite. All of them were in a grim mood. Everyone looked a little nervous, anxious and somewhat devastated.
