ISLA was surprised when she saw Zero and Becca one morning.
“Good morning, sunshine!” Becca greeted. She smiled but her eyes were stuck to Zero.
Becca then approached her. “Apollo is coming,” she whispered in her left ear.
Isla glanced at her and nodded.
“Why did you bring Zero with you?” It was Apollo who just came and stopped beside Isla.
Becca arched her brow and crossed her arms in front of her chest. “Got any problem with my cousin?” she asked, prickly.
Apollo looked at her and his forehead knitted. “Yes, big time. Your cousin here is my sister’s—”
“Seriously, Apollo?” asked Isla.
Seems like Apollo wanted to flaunt that she had a crush on Zero.
“I will be the one who will drive you to the university.”
She heaved a deep sigh. “You have to attend a meeting at eight, right? And why do you act as if we’re going to do something?” she asked.
Apollo glared at her. “I don’t trust Zero, princess,” he replied.
Zero let out a soft chuckle. “Come on, Apollo. Isla here is just like my sister,” he asserted which makes Apollo pierce his death glare at him.
“Says who? I know you dude.”
Zero smirked. “Don’t worry. I will behave,” he teased.
“Come on, old Apollo. I was the one who ask for my cousin’s time to drive us to the university—”
“Whom you calling old?”
Becca grinned. “You. Anyway, let’s go, Isla,” she said and dragged her out of their house.
Apollo was about to stop them when Becca glared at him. “You’re old enough. So, act according to your age,” she said.
Isla wanted to burst into laughter because of it but jitters started to evade her when Zero equaled their pace and move to the other side of his car.
“What’s going on, Becca?” she whispered.
Becca didn’t reply and just flashed a smile as she open the passenger seat and pushed her inside.
She was about to open it again and disagree but Zero spoke.
“We meet again, baby,” he said and smiled, mischievously but she just ignored it.
She looked at Becca who had just opened the back door in the back seat. “Are you serious with this, Becca?” her voice roared inside Zero’s luxurious car.
Becca smiled and sat. “I am,” she replied.
She closes her eyes as she sat properly, trying to calm herself. When she opened it, she looked at their house, Apollo was there, watching them.
Great! Just great!
Now, she’s beside Zero and honestly, the atmosphere is getting weird and she feels unease.
“Hey, Zero. Let me grab some coffee, alright?” Becca uttered from the back.
Zero nodded and maneuver the steering wheel and he sped off out of their lawn.
Zero stopped in the nearby coffee shop.
She was about to unbuckle her seatbelt when Becca spoke. “Just stay here, Isla. The coffee is on me. Just tell me what flavor you want.”
She glanced at Becca in the rearview mirror and she hates her smile.
“Caramel.”
Becca nodded. “How about you, Zero?” she asked.
“Just choose for me,” Zero replied.
“Okie dookie. I will be right back.” Becca fakes a cough. “Ahem… enjoy your moment,” she added and hop off.
She frowned and sighed.
When Becca left, the atmosphere inside the car is getting worse than earlier.
“So,” Zero started which makes her turn to his side, “how’s your sleep the past few days?”
She frowned, slightly. “Fine. Why?”
Zero unbuckles his seatbelt and faces her side. His right arm leaned on the cushion of his seat and held his jaw.
He smiled. “Mine, I always think about that night we shared,” he whispered.
“What night?” she asked, playing innocent.
Zero’s left hand went to her leg until he slid it under her dress.
The warmth of his touch surprised her and she gasped. “Do you want to do it again, with me?” he asked and bit his lower lip.
