ISLA
On the first day of school, I was beyond happy. Finally, I reached the last stage of being a nerd. Just kidding.
“I didn’t expect that this University could be this freaking huge,” Becca uttered while we were sitting on the bench near the school entrance and looking at the tall building.
“We knew that this was not just part of this University. We didn’t explore it all yet. Since we’re just going to have orientation today, why don’t we start touring ourselves?” I suggested and looked at her.
Becca arched her brow and cup her face with her left palm. She heaved a deep sigh. “I’m too lazy to walk. I think my bed is still calling me,” she uttered.
I frowned and puffed some air out of my nose. “Then I’ll get going all by myself—”
“No!” Becca looked at me and glared. “I don’t want you to leave me here,” she said, seems trying to pull some drama.
I shook my head in disbelief. “You’re unbelievable, Becca.”
“Isla,” she called my name and I gazed at her as I arched one of my brows.
“What?” I asked.
“I’m gonna call my cousin and tell him to treat us. We should celebrate our first day in college,” she uttered which held my sense for a while. “What do you think?” she asked as she snapped her fingers in front of my face to bring me back.
I looked away and sighed. “I don’t know if it’s a good idea. Apollo might sniff that we’re seeing Zero. You knew Apollo doesn’t want—”
“You got a moment with my cousin the other night and now you’re afraid? Don’t tell me something too deep happened to the both of you… that’s why you’re saying—”
She didn’t finish her words when I glared at her. “Why would we do something deep? And what do you mean by that?” I asked.
She smirked. “Who knows who. Maybe Zero already claimed you—”
“Yeah, he claimed my lips but that happens only once,” I lied. Damn! I am a very good liar, I cursed inside my mind.
“Is that so? So, there’s no problem if I call my cousin, right?”
Great. If I will decline and keep on stopping her, she will wonder why I’m doing it when in the first place, I badly wanted to see him. And it’s unusual to me if I will not act according to what I really ever want.
I heaved a deep sigh. “It’s up to you. But if Apollo will find out—”
“He will not find it out, trust me,” she asserted, emphasizing the word: he.
I nodded. “Potassium!”
“Huh?”
“Potassium as in K… okay. You know the periodic table of elements, right?” I asked and smiled.
