"Do you think someone comfortable taking on high-paying tasks would be willing to work for others?" Romeo shot back.
True, folks took on tasks online because they can choose their own hours, not chained to a fixed work schedule.
"Plus, he cracked the existing system and set up a new one in less than half a day. With his skills and capabilities, why would he be content working with the rest of the team, stuck in a lab all day?"
He can create a new system by himself. What did he need others for? Would they just get in his way?
Carl admitted this made sense, but letting go of such an expert was a shame!
This guy was definitely beyond their research team!
If they could recruit such talent, it would be a huge boost for the future development of their group.
"How about we give him a cut of the profits? As for working hours, he can come and go as he pleases! As long as he can help us build a more powerful system or invest in other research?"
"Instead, why not just give him another hundred million to set up a whole new system."
"Sure."
"This new system is crucial for us, and it's better if our people research it."
No matter how powerful the other party was, if they had ulterior motives in the future, they'll be the ones to suffer.
"I get it." Carl reluctantly let go of this impractical thought.
After ending the call, Romeo worked on his computer before heading to his bedroom half an hour later.
"Bella, are you asleep yet?"
He knocked on the door, but there was no response.
He wasn't sure if the girl had covered herself with the blanket since it's summer and the air conditioning might give her a cold if it's too cool.
With that in mind, he opened the door to find the room quiet, the breeze lifting the curtains, and the girl lying on the bed like a beautiful painting.
