The Return Of His Unrivaled Ex-Wife (Joanna) novel Chapter 1065

Chapter 1065

“I feel so happy. I got Daddy, Mommy, and brothers doting on me. I’m truly blessed.”

“Silly girl, you are the little princess of our family. Who else should we dote on if not you?”

Lilia sighed again, looking regretful. “Well, it’s a pity Daddy isn’t here. If he were here, he would definitely accompany me to Gaprington.”

As she spoke, Lilia tilted her head and looked at Joanna with a soft, tender expression. “Mommy, why can’t we get through to Daddy’s phone? Where on earth did he go that he can’t be reached?”

When Joanna heard her daughter’s concern, her heart skipped a beat again at the moment.

Irvin complained as well, showing his dissatisfaction. “Exactly. I can’t figure out where Daddy went. “He has been away from home for over a month and does not miss home at all. Did he forget about his wife and kids?”

Hearing the complaints, Joanna could only comfort her children. “Alright, let’s not talk about it. Daddy is working hard for our family. His job is already demanding, so we should understand him.”

Irvin laughed. “That’s true. If daddy does not work hard to earn money, we can’t be some wealthy heirs, right?”

Joanna furrowed her brows slightly and thought of scolding Irvin but decided to hold back with a second thought.

The kids were still young and did not understand much. She would correct their values when they grew up, especially Irvin, who was extremely proud of his status as a rich second-generation heir.

No, it should be the third generation of the rich.

“When Mommy is not at home, you must study well and behave yourself.”

“Yeah, yeah. We know.”

“You’re not allowed to play online games either. Mommy will have Miranda and Mr. Gael to watch over you.” Joanna instructed with a fierce expression.

Children could easily get addicted to online games, and once they did, it was not easy to handle.

“We have so much homework every day. How would we have time to play online games?

“Mommy, don’t worry! We’re the most well-behaved kids.”

“That’s good to hear. You’re all grown up now, and Mommy does not need to nag you.”

Joanna planned to bring Devin along this time. After all, Devin was still too young. She was worried about leaving him at home.

“Enough talk, guys. Hurry up and go back to your rooms to rest.”

“Good night, Mommy.” Davian and Irvin waved to their mother.

“Good night, my darlings.” Joanna bent down and kissed their faces.

Back in her room, Joanna took a quick shower.

However, lying on the bed, she could not find any sleep. She checked the time, and it was just a little past. 9 o’clock.

She normally would not sleep this early. But now, she was even more restless because she could not stop worrying about Bruce.

Coincidentally, Jaydon called.

Ring, ring, ring.

Joanna answered the call. “Hello, Jay!”

On the other end of the phone, Jaydon’s warm and magnetic voice came through. “Joann, are you asleep?”

“Not yet. Why?”

Jaydon hesitated for a moment. “Oh, nothing. Isn’t Lilia going to Gaprington tomorrow? I called specifically to see if I could go with you. What time is your flight?”

“Yes, we’re taking a flight at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning.”

“Then I’ll come and see you off!”

Joanna declined directly upon hearing Jaydon’s plan. “No need, it’s too troublesome for you to come back and forth.

“I’ll have the driver take us, it’s more convenient that way. Besides, you’re in Venturas, it would take time for you to come over.”

Jaydon sighed and did not insist further. “Well, just take care, and call me if there’s anything you need help”

“Got it. How is Patricia doing now?”

The question made Jaydon let out another long sigh.

His daughter was not close to him and Carmel at all.

After coming back, she cried and threw tantrums, refusing to eat. No matter how they coaxed, nothing worked.

But he knew Joanna was going to take Lilia to Gaprington for treatment, and he did not want to bother her further.

After a few seconds of silence, Jaydon blurted out. “Has Bruce not come back yet?”

“Not so soon.”

“Have you managed to contact him? I tried calling him, but I could not get through.” Jaydon frowned. He was not trying to get emotionally involved with Bruce. He was just worried about his litter sister, Grace, who had been refusing to return to the country. He still could not rest assured about her and wanted to call Bruce or Darcy to find out what was going on.

However, he had called Bruce several times, and nobody answered. He also tried calling Darcy, but no one answered either.

“Oh, he and Darcy went to a remote place. I heard there was no signal there, so the phone can’t get through.

“Once the signal is available, he will definitely call back.” Joanna instinctively defended Bruce. Jaydon listened but did not say much. In this era, if one wanted to contact each other, there must be a

way.

So, there was something suspicious about Bruce, but he could not sow discord in front of Joanna.

“Well then, let’s leave it at that.”

“Okay, I’m hanging up.”

“Good night.”

After hanging up the phone, Joanna weakly leaned against the pillow. Now that Bruce was not by her side, she suddenly missed him terribly, wanting him to come back at once and hold her tight as he used to.

“Bruce, I miss you so much! Please come back, okay?” Joanna touched Bruce’s pillow, her cheeks already stained with tears without her realizing it.

Especially these past few days, she found herself inexplicably on the verge of tears. They had been apart for several months before, and while she missed him back then, it was not like how she felt now.

It was not just missing him now, but more so, worrying about him.

Well, women tended to overthink and be sensitive.

With tears still streaming down her face, Joanna fell asleep in a daze.

Just as she fell asleep, she had a terrifying dream.

“Ah…” Joanna shuddered, abruptly waking up-from the dream.

In the dream, she saw Bruce being dissected, gruesomely injured, and unrecognizable. A group of people surrounded him as if they were studying something.

When Joanna woke up, she was covered in cold sweat. The dream had felt so real, almost lifelike.

“Bruce, please don’t have any trouble. You promised me that you’ll come back home, and you must keep

that promise.” Joanna touched her face, which was unknowingly soaked with tears.

Unable to fall back asleep, she lifted the quilt and stepped out of bed, heading straight to the balcony with

bare feet.
