Chapter 1066
After sending the message, Joanna waited anxiously for Aria’s reply.
30 minutes passed, but there was only silence from the phone. Aria did not reply to her message, which made Joanna’s anxiety grow, and she felt an inexplicable sense of restlessness.
“Bruce, what are you hiding? What are you up to?
“Oh, my god. Have you been involved in something illegal, or worse? Have you been in prison in Melta?” The more Joanna thought about it, the more uneasy she became. She could not help but imagine various possibilities.
[Aria, can you please tell me the truth? What exactly is Bruce doing?]
Swoosh. Joanna sent another message, but there was still no response.
Unable to hold back, she tried calling Aria again.
Ring, ring, ring.
“Hello, the number you have dialed is unavailable…”
Aria had also turned off her phone.
Joanna’s face turned pale, her heart pounding with unease that she could not catch her breath. “She turned off her phone too? Did she… do it on purpose?
“No, no, I really can’t take it anymore. If this continues, I’ll go crazy.”
Ring, ring, ring.
Joanna tried calling Darcy and Carson again, dialing every possible contact number she could think of. But the result was the same, all the calls could not get through.
The next day.
Joanna struggled to get up, feeling weak and sluggish.
Lilia was already packed and waiting downstairs to go.
“Good morning, Mommy.”
“Good morning, my darling.” Joanna looked exhausted as she dragged her tired body downstairs.
Seeing her appearance, Lilia was shocked. “Wow, Mommy, why are your eyes so swollen?”
Joanna instinctively rubbed her eyes and tried to perk up a bit. “Oh, Mommy… did not sleep well last night.”
Lilia tilted her head, smiling mischievously. “Mommy, are you worried about my legs?”
“Yeah.”
“Don’t worry, Mommy! I can already feel that I can stand, and I’ll definitely cooperate with the doctor’s rehabilitation training. When my leg is better, I’ll dance for you, Mommy!” Lilia’s beautiful big eyes flickered as she looked at her mother with determination.
“Good girl!” Joanna managed a smile and hugged her daughter, unable to resist giving her a kiss.
“Is everything ready?”
“Yes, everything is ready!”
“Then let’s go!”
“Mommy, aren’t you going to have some breakfast?”
“Mommy’s not hungry. I will cat on the plane!”
Upon hearing this, Miranda could not help but advise. “Joann, why not have a bowl of oatmeal with milk? The food on the plane can’t compare to what we make at home.”
“Alright.” Joanna reluctantly agreed and went to the dining room.
Her health had always been fragile.
So, there would always have some healthy and nourishing food served as breakfast at the dining table in

the Everett residence.
Anyway, Bruce spared no expense when it came to Joanna and their children, providing them with the best, not just what was expensive.
Joanna finished a glass of milk in a rush and prepared to leave.
This time, she had to bring her two children along, so several bodyguards and servants were accompanying them. With the large group, they would naturally take a private plane.
It was 9 o’clock in the morning at the airport.
“I hope everything goes smoothly this time.”
“Mommy! Will Daddy come to Gaprington? I’m a little scared without Daddy around…”
Lilia rested her head on Joanna’s shoulder, showing a hint of fear on her small face.
Last time in Gaprington, she and Mommy had a car accident. Mommy got seriously injured while protecting her and almost could not live.
The memory had left the little girl with some shadow in her mind.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart. Even without Daddy around, I’m here, and everything will be fine. Daddy will definitely come to see you after he finishes his work.
“Let’s get off the car!”
“Well, okay.”
The servants unloaded the wheelchair and luggage from the car, preparing to go through the gate.
Not far away, Jaydon hurriedly approached, waving to them. “Joann, Lilia.”
Hearing his shout, Joanna turned her head and asked, “Jay, why did you come?”
“I’m here to see you off!” Jaydon said as he walked quickly to their side.
Behind him, several bodyguards and assistants were following. It seemed like they were also going on a trip.
Joanna frowned slightly, resisting his gesture. “Didn’t I tell you yesterday that you don’t need to trouble yourself to see us off?”
A touch of warmth appeared on Jaydon’s handsome face, and he smiled. “I’m still worried about you and want to see you off.”
Lilia smiled sweetly. “Mr. Grimm.”
“Good girl.” Jaydon bent down and affectionately pinched Lilia’s cheek.
“Is Devin also going to Gaprington with you?”
Joanna nodded. “Yes, he’s still young, and I don’t feel at ease leaving him at home.”
Jaydon did not say anything more and handed over a luggage bag. “I rushed here, so I did not have time to prepare properly. This is a gift for you.”
“You don’t have to be so polite. You always bring gifts when you come over.”
Jaydon smiled. “It’s a gesture of goodwill. I wish you a safe journey. There are some food and daily
necessities inside.”
