The Return Of His Unrivaled Ex-Wife (Joanna) novel Chapter 988

Chapter 988

Darcy led the bodyguards to surround the old residence.

They were all well-trained top-notch bodyguards. It would be easy for them to deal with a few hooligans.

Rifle was shot dead on the spot, and Johnny was shot in the shoulder. Skinhead, who was completely naked, cowered in a corner. He was trembling. Although he was not hit by a bullet, he was so frightened that he wet himself.

When Skinhead saw Rifle glaring with bloodshot eyes as he fell to Skinhead’s feet, Skinhead was so frightened that his bladder tightened and a pool of warm urine flowed down his thigh.

“Raise your hands. Whoever resists will be shot dead.”

The bodyguards also surrounded them with guns. They trapped Johnny and Skinhead, looking as though they had brought both of them under control.

Seeing that Darcy had brought people over, Grace’s eyes were instantly filled with tears. She whimpered in grievance and fear.

“Boohoo… Save me…”

Darcy was shocked when he saw the scene in front of him.

Grace’s hands and feet were tied up. Her clothes were torn. She was lying on the ground in a weak and miserable state.

Her youthful aura and well-proportioned figure caused one to be aroused.

“Ms. Grace,” Darcy cried out in distress and hurriedly took off his suit to cover Grace.

“Turn around!” Darcy ordered his subordinates in a stern tone.

When the other bodyguards heard this, they quickly averted their gaze, not daring to stare at this enchanting beauty anymore.

“Boohoo…” Grace was still filled with lingering fear. She kept trembling.

At this moment, seeing Darcy was like seeing a great hero.

Grace thought, “This is it. He’s my man for the rest of my life.

“There will never be another man who can replace him.” Darcy’s eyes were filled with distress and worry. He quickly wrapped

Grace in his suit.

He was tall and had a large build, so his suit was naturally large. On the other hand, Grace’s figure was petite and delicate. A single suit was large enough to cover her vital parts.

“Ms. Grace, you, um, don’t be afraid!” Darcy said as he hurriedly pulled away the rag in her mouth and untied the ropes binding her hands and feet.

“Boohoo… Why did it take you so long to come… Boohoo…” Grace was like a frightened child. Without hesitation or concern for anything else, she nestled into Darcy’s arms.

If they had come any later, she would really have been taken advantage of.

Darcy’s body tensed up. He did not dare to push her away. Neither did he dare to embrace her.

After a long while, he stammered.

“It’s, it’s alright now,” he said. “You’re safe.”

Carson had already started instructing the bodyguards. “Tie them up,” he said.

“Darcy, what should we do now? Should we call the police?”

Darcy had regained his composure. He said, “Bring them under control first and inform Mr. Everett.”

“Alright.”

Grace hugged Darcy tightly and cried intensely like a pitiful child. She said, “Why did it take you so long to save me? Boohoo…”

Darcy was at a loss for words. His heart skipped a beat. There were some faint tears in his eyes.

He wanted to say something to comfort her.

However, his throat felt like it was stuffed with cotton. He could not say a word

Darcy had always been a tough and resolute man. He was unyielding and firm. He really did not know how to say gentle and comforting words. “Ms. Grace, please don’t cry anymore,” he said. “Everything is alright now.”

Grace wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her head against. his neck. Warm tears rolled down his collarbone, causing him to be

restless, unsettled, and unable to relax.

This feeling was very strange.

He felt uneasy, yet joyful at the same time. There was a sense of sadness, yet there was also a sense of excitement.

All in all, it was a mixture of various emotions that made one’s adrenaline

surge.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Carson called Bruce directly.

“Hello,” Bruce said.

Carson said, “Mr. Everett, Ms. Grace has been successfully rescued.

“There are a total of three thugs. One has been killed on the spot, and the other two have been brought under control.”

“Is Grace alright?” Bruce asked. “Did she get hurt?”

“She’s fine,” Carson said. “It looks like she only has some minor external injuries.”

When Bruce heard this, he lifted his eyebrows slightly and said, “Great. Send her to the hospital for treatment. Bring the two thugs over.”

“Will do,” Carson said.

After hanging up, Cherron asked, “What did Mr. Everett say?”

“Mr. Everett wants us to bring these two scumbags back,” Carson said.

“Okay.” A few bodyguards went forward and lifted up Johnny and Skinhead like they were little chicks.

“Ms. Grace looks very weak. She needs to be taken to the hospital immediately.”

When Darcy heard this, he brought his wandering mind to the present. “Oh, right!” he said.

As he spoke, Darcy had already carried Grace in a horizontal position.

“Quickly go and report to Mr. Everett,” Darcy said. “I’ll send Ms. Grace to the hospital.”

After saying that, Darcy strode toward the exit.

Carson and Cherron were at a loss for words. They looked at each other in surprise.

After so many years, this was the first time they saw Darcy being so

concerned about a girl.

“Haha. Looks like the dull man who has been emotionally unresponsive for the longest time is finally going to have a girlfriend,” Cherron said.

“I hope so,” Carson said. “If this emotionally unresponsive man doesn’t start having romantic relationships soon, he is going to decay.”
