The Return Of His Unrivaled Ex-Wife (Joanna) novel Chapter 989

Chapter 989

Joanna was at a loss for words. She heaved a sigh of relief. A hint of relief finally appeared on her face.

She said, “I’m really fine!

“Thank God, Grace is finally safe.”

If Grace were to be harmed by those thugs, Joanna’s conscience would be troubled for the rest of her life.

Fortunately, Grace was in danger but ultimately unharmed. Joanna did not have to bear such a heavy psychological burden anymore.

Joanna had just heaved a sigh of relief when she suddenly thought of Jaydon. She said, “What about Jay?

“Hurry up and tell him the good news so he doesn’t have to worry anymore.”

Bruce frowned slightly and said, “I’ll call him now.”

“Beep. Beep. Beep.”

Meanwhile, Jaydon was anxious and distressed. He did not know what to do.

Seeing a call from Bruce, he quickly picked up the call. “Hello,” he said. “How is it?”

Bruce’s calm voice came from the other end of the line. “Your sister has been rescued and has been sent to the hospital,” he said.

Jaydon was at a loss for words. Upon hearing this, his heart, which felt like it had been weighed down by a heavy burden, was instantly relieved. The hand that was holding the phone went from trembling at the beginning to being spasmodic now.

He felt so grateful that he did not know what to say.

After a long while, Jaydon then thanked him solemnly. He said, “Bruce, thank you.

“If it weren’t for your help this time, I really wouldn’t know what to do. Anyway, how can I thank you…”

Jaydon was so excited that he spoke incoherently.

Now, he could deal with Cassius without any worries.

Upon hearing that, Bruce raised his eyebrows and smirked arrogantly. “Enough of that!” he said. “Hurry up and do your thing.”

With that, he hung up without waiting for Jaydon to reply.

Bruce had a complex personality. He was cold and arrogant. He also looked like the kind of person who would use people for his own benefit and subsequently discard them when they were no longer useful. In addition, he also looked like someone who would use any means necessary to achieve his goals.

In actual fact, however, he was definitely the sort of person who would repay kindness.

Even though he kept saying that he wanted to beat Jaydon to death, he would still help Jaydon at critical moments.

Seeing that Bruce hang up so quickly, Joanna asked nervously, “What did Jay say?

“Why are you in such a hurry to hang up? I haven’t even heard what he’s saying.”

Joanna looked worried.

Bruce looked at Joanna with a hint of jealousy and said, “The matter has been perfectly resolved. Why do I still want to talk so much nonsense with him?”

“You can ask him if he needs any help or if there’s anything we can do to assist,” Joanna said.

“Whatever,” Bruce said. “Let him handle the rest himself.” He then leisurely sipped his coffee.

Joanna was left speechless. She frowned upon hearing that.

“This damn guy is really despicable,” she thought.

“Can’t you just help him and see things through to the end?” Joanna said.

“See things through to the end?” Bruce said. “Should I help him until he goes to the afterlife?” Bruce rolled his eyes arrogantly and replied sulkily.

“Bruce, your mouth is really foul,” Joanna said. “Can’t you speak nicely?” Joanna looked at Bruce speechlessly.

“I’ve already helped him solve the most difficult problems,” Bruce said. “If he can’t handle these remaining small issues, then he’s not worthy of being called a man. If I were him, I would just die.” Bruce used his sharp tongue to mock Jaydon.

Joanna was left speechless.

Bruce said, “Okay. Okay. He can handle the rest of the matter on his own.

“If he can’t handle it, I’ll help.”

As Bruce spoke, he could not help but be sarcastic again. He muttered under his breath, “Sigh, when your old flame is in trouble, you’re more anxious than anyone else.

“If I were in trouble, I don’t even know if you would be so anxious.”

“What did you say?” Joanna said. “What are you mumbling about again?” Joanna looked displeased.

“This damn guy is being jealous again,” she thought.

Bruce changed his expression instantly and chuckled at her. “It’s nothing,” he said. “What else can I mutter?”

When Joanna heard this, she sighed helplessly. Then, she took the initiative to sit on his lap.

She gently caressed his handsome face and said, “Hubby, you did a good job these past few days.

“I’m sorry. I overlooked your feelings and made you jealous again.”

Upon saying that, Joanna looked into his eyes affectionately. Then, she took the initiative to kiss his thin lips.

“In my heart, Jay is just a friend and someone that I am beholden to,” she said. “My feelings for him are purely out of gratitude.

“I hope you won’t be jealous of him. We’re married now. We should trust each other and be understanding toward each other.”

Upon hearing that, Bruce quickly denied it stubbornly. He said, “I’m not jealous!

“What ability does he have to make me jealous?

“He’s ugly, dumb, and weak. He’s also a playboy. Do I need to be jealous of him?

“He’s not like me. I’m handsome, smart, and have a great figure. I’m also rich and dedicated. Can there be another perfect man like me in the world?”

“Ugh…” Joanna was left speechless. She muffled her voice as she made a choking sound, choking so badly that it felt like it could cause internal injuries.

“This damn guy is either narcissistic or on his way to becoming narcissistic,” Joanna thought.

“Why do you have such an expression?” Bruce said. “Am I wrong? In your eyes, am I not a perfect man that is good and a man that has no equal?”

Joanna’s eyes were fixed on him. She immediately stood up from his lap. “Alright,” she said. “Alright. I can’t listen to this anymore.

“If I continue listening, my ears will go crazy!”

“Where are you going?” Bruce asked. Seeing that she was about to leave, Bruce reached out and pulled her into his arms again.

Joanna noticed the intense passion in Bruce’s eyes. She quickly said seriously, “I’m going to see the children. Stop fooling around!”

“Why are you in such a hurry?” Bruce said. “You’ve been busy with the jerk’s business for the past two days. You’ve neglected my feelings. You have to make it up to me now.” Bruce’s big hand started to get naughty.

He was going to Melta soon.

He did not know when he would be able to return, nor did he know if he would be able to return safely.

Right now, he did not want to think about anything else. He just wanted to wallow in her tenderness.
