Fane felt quite exasperated at the unique situation. The two of his teammates actually knew each other. Not only that, they were enemies who had fought each other before. There was a deep conflict between them. They were immediately at odds with each other the moment they met.
None of them had even bothered to look at Fane the whole time. They were so focused on themselves. Earlier, Marth still had a smile on his face even though he saw Lourain. Fane could tell that Marth did not want any conflicts with Lourain at that moment.
After all, Marth knew very well that passing was the most important, not his personal grudges. Even if they had some conflicts before, they should forget about it. Yet, Lourain did not seem to care and was focused on his grudge.
He was even saying loudly that he did not care about passing. Just to vent his frustrations, he was willing to fight right away. Marth had still been able to stomach it initially, but he lost his temper when Lourain got progressively worse.
The two of them looked like they were refusing to give in. They got harsher with their words.
Marth shouted loudly, "You warriors from third-grade worlds all act the same. You always try to make yourselves look good. You speak as if warriors from third-grade worlds are no match for you just because of where you're from. Do you think your meager skills are at the level where you can speak to others in that tone of yours? Just check your attitude. I didn't steal anything from you, you just weren't good enough to keep it. I just fought you one time. You were only at a slight advantage at the time. It's not like you were completely beating me. At the most, you're slightly stronger than I am!"
Lourain clenched his teeth as he got angrier and angrier. Even his veins could be seen at that point. His eyes which were full of hatred were staring right at Marth as if Marth had killed his whole family!
"Shut up right now! If it hadn't been for you, I would never have failed. I was too spent after fighting you, which is why I lost the treasure. Everything is because of you!" As he said that, Lourain's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
It was plain to see that Lourain was pinning all the blame for the failure on Marth. He felt like he had done no wrong, and it had all been someone else. Marth pursed his lips helplessly. Lourain looked like he had already lost himself to his anger. There was no convincing the man.
Marth did not want to waste any more time or effort. He waved it off and said, "You're the most exasperating person I've ever seen. If you're not good enough, then you're not good enough. Why are you trying to come up with all those excuses? If it wasn't me, there would have been someone else. If you were strong enough, you wouldn't have lost it even if you fought me before!"
Rudy more or less understood what happened at that point. He looked at Lourain with a stunned expression, as if he was looking at an idiot. He had probably been looking too intensely, so he attracted Lourain's attention.
He immediately saw how Rudy was looking at him. Lourain's temper soared at that point. He had not even resolved things on one end, and there was already someone else trying to look for trouble.
Lourain said angrily, "What are you looking at?! Do you want to die?!"
Rudy looked at Lourain in disdain. His expression intensified. Lourain's threat was completely useless. Rudy heard threats like that several times a day. It was nothing new to him.
