Sure enough, they needed to always be on the highest alert. Even if they were acting differently, they needed to spot it instantly.
Fane took a deep breath as he faced Lourain and Marth, who were still investigating their bodies, saying, "It's just a little below your heart."
When they heard Fane's instruction, they quickly found the ember controlling their emotions. It was easy to notice, but the difficult part was the fact that they did not realize it. They thought that they themselves were the cause of their loss of control, which was the scariest part. They almost failed because of that.
Without the control of the fire, the two of them still did not like each other, but they would not confront each other like before. It was because they knew that their goal in being there was to enter Violet City and not fight each other to the death.
After the three of them got rid of the fire in their hearts, the fire killing array was basically over. Fane got up again and sighed. "Be on your best guard, both of you. Don't make any more mistakes."
The two of them nodded their hearts frantically, no longer daring to say anything. The entrance to Violet City was towards the east of the city. The entrance was shielded by a violet barrier. Those who passed the Seven Deaths Array would be able to enter Violet City through the barrier.
After spending four whole hours in the Seven Deaths Array, Fane and the others finally made it out and entered Violet City.
The three of them did not look to be in that good of a state. Marth and Lourain looked incredibly pale as if they were very ill. They looked like they were distraught. Fane did not look as frail as the two of them, but he was tense. Even his sleeves had been damaged.
Lourain panted roughly as his hands trembled. He gulped as he said, "We're finally out. I thought we'd die there!"
Every seven steps they took was a new killing array. After going through many difficulties, they were finally able to see the sun again. After passing the fire killing array, they immediately entered the earth killing array. Thankfully, the earth killing array was not as tricky as the ones before, despite it being difficult in its own right.
With Fane's skills, they managed to pass easily. After that, it was the wind killing array. Only Fane had been tested there, and the two of them just made up the numbers. In the end, all the other arrays were dealt with through Fane's skills.
They were not as difficult as the first few arrays at all, which surprised the three of them. After all, the first few arrays almost led to them failing, but they passed the last few arrays without a hitch. The Seven Deaths Array put the hardest one in the middle.
Regardless, they were finally out. Other than Fane's arm almost getting struck by lightning in the last array, the others went quite smoothly. Nonetheless, Lourain and Marth still felt like they barely managed to get out.
Marth straightened himself as he frowned when he saw the endless stream of warriors in front of them. The moment they entered, they saw quite a few warriors hurrying around. Even though they did not know why, all of the warriors had the same anxious looks on their faces.
All of them seemed like they were in a rush. It was as if time was far more valuable here than anywhere else. All three of them were confused when they saw the sight. Why was everyone in such a hurry? Did something happen?
The three of them did not even attract any attention when they stepped inside. Everyone was constantly moving around with anxious frowns on their faces.
Marth frowned and said, "Something's not right. Something must've happened, but what?"
