They were in a restricted area. No matter how much Fane crossed the line, there was no way they could do anything to him. They would have to bear with it. If he managed to slip away after he left and changed his looks, they would not be able to recognize him from then on.
The mere thought of that made their expressions sour, even Percy's.
Even though Percy maintained his prideful look when he argued with Fane earlier, he was, in truth, furious. He wanted nothing more than to rip Fane apart. He would really suffer if he did not manage his revenge in the end. The thoughts could very well affect his training and end up causing him trouble in the future. Just thinking about that caused Percy to get even angrier.
He decided that they could not let Fane get out of the Capture Hall. Even if Fane tried to come out with a million excuses in the end, they had to punish him severely.
Percy took a deep breath and said, "You're right. He could just be toying with us. We have to figure out a plan to stop him from running away. We need a foolproof plan to make sure this guy won't be able to leave the Capture Hall safe and sound. Even if he does, we have to leave with him. We can't let him escape us!"
Fane's arrogance had trampled all over their dignity and insulted their pride. If he managed to get away smoothly, it would be even worse than if he had just cursed them to their faces. It would make them a joke, which Percy could not allow to happen.
Percy gritted his teeth and said, "I somewhat understand what he's thinking right now. He doesn't have the courage to face us; he's only daring enough to do all of this because of his safety measures. With that mask on, we can't tell who he is at all. On top of that, we're in the restricted area.
"It's not like everything he did is a contract; he can back down from his word any time he wants. Even if everyone rebukes him because of it, he'll probably be able to figure out some way to regain his dignity in his words. He'll probably say that he hates the sight of us and wants to embarrass us. After all, a handful will probably agree with him…"
Percy's anger rose the more he spoke, and somehow…he believed that his words were true. Fane was only so arrogant because he wanted to toy with them. He wanted to trample all over their dignity! He felt like he stood to lose nothing from his actions.
The moment he changed his mask, he would be safe.
Percy gritted his teeth. He could not allow that to happen!
Randall frowned. "I won't be satisfied even if we blow that dog to pieces! We mustn't spare him. We mustn't let him get what he wants!"
They were already full of hatred to begin with. With the additional information they figured out for themselves, they were even more angered. They wanted to rip Fane apart at that moment, but they knew very well they could not rush things. They had to take things one step at a time, making sure to set them up so Fane could not escape their grasp.
After determining their plans, they started to whisper and discuss things among themselves.
When Fane came back to his seat, he saw Percy and the others turning around to look at him with intense looks. It was obvious they had ill intentions, but Fane did not mind.
