Someone said with a puzzled expression, "What's going on here? I agree with Percy and that this guy is a liar, but I don't understand what he said after that. If Percy honestly forgives him, I'll change my name to his!"
"I don't think that's very likely. The Star Continent's warriors are famous for being unforgiving. Anyone who offends them will be targeted by the whole continent, and that guy has ticked off one too many offensive acts on their list, humiliating the entire continent. He had been so rude, so how could Percy let that guy go?"
Fane laughed at that. Percy really was interesting. He had just been wondering what kind of trick Percy was going to pull and what he would say, but it was actually something so crazy.
He said he wanted to grant him mercy, did he? Percy even said that he was not an idiot right before that. Percy's words definitely sounded like they thought he was an idiot.
Fane laughed as he nodded. "Then tell me, how are you going to show me mercy?"
Percy could see the mockery in Fane's laughter, but he had to suppress his anger at that moment. He needed all his patience to deal with Fane, or they would be letting Fane off too lightly.
Thus, quelling his anger, Percy took a deep breath before he continued, "Listen well. If you plan on going against your word, there's no way you'll be able to regain your dignity with that mouth of yours. The others here aren't idiots, either. No matter what you say, they'll just think you're a crazy guy who only knows how to talk himself up!
"Furthermore, even if you manage to leave Capture Hall, you can't escape us for long. I'll make sure to have people follow you. No matter where you end up going, someone will be right behind you. Your days in the future will be in constant torture. The moment we get the chance, we'll make sure you die!"
Percy's eyes were cold and desolate as he spoke; as if death was descending on Fane.
Fane raised an eyebrow. If he had just been bragging, then those threats could have worked.
Percy did not even bother with Fane's lack of a reply, as if it did not matter what he said or how his expression was. He added, "As long as you promise me to keep your word and join the battle, I'll show you some mercy and give you a chance to survive. If you do what I say, things will be settled between us."
Those words caused everyone to look over with widened eyes. The discussions caused a stir in the crowd as they did not even anticipate this. Of course, they long knew the Star Continent would never pardon Fane based on how they typically acted.
Fane's lips curled up into a smile. "Continue. I want to hear how you're planning on giving me a chance."
Percy ignored the mockery in Fane's eyes as he continued, "The moment the barrier goes up, you enter a state of preparation. There are no rules against fighting at this moment, but I can assure you that Randall won't attack you during this time."
Percy raised ten fingers. "After the beast dies, you have to wait for ten seconds before the barrier goes back down and everyone is subjected to the laws of the restricted areas again. Randall will only attack you during those ten seconds. If you can hold on, then everything between us is settled. I'll guarantee you on my name!"
Percy's words were firm and left no room for doubt. Everyone was once again deep in discussion.
"Ten seconds is more than enough time! I finally understand what Percy is aiming at. I guess this is quite a trick. As long as this guy falls for it, he'll have been hooked. Even if it's just ten seconds, it's more than enough for everything!"
