The substitute bride is a mute novel Chapter 27

Judy immediately reacted and handed the bag she had been holding to Jenna. Clark had given her the bag before getting out of the car, and she had no idea what was inside.

In front of everyone, Jenna opened the bag and exclaimed, "I've been fancying this necklace for the longest time. Clark, how did you know!"

It was the latest design from Tiffany. The diamonds on the necklace sparkled brightly in the sunlight, clearly indicating its considerable value.

Judy was also surprised to see the necklace.

It was not unusual for Clark to be generous, but people couldn't help but wonder why he was giving his sister-in-law such a valuable necklace at their first meeting.

Matthew's expression was grim as he said, "Jenna, the necklace is too expensive. Quick, give it back to Clark."

"It's just a necklace. It doesn't cost that much," said Clark casually before he took Judy's hand and continued, "Judy picked it personally for you. She wanted to give you something as a sister, isn't that right?"

Being held by Clark who had an ambiguous smile on his face, Judy felt a chill run down her spine. She quickly forced a nod.

Jenna knew for sure that Judy hadn't picked the necklace. She assumed that Clark had made up that excuse so that Matthew would allow her to accept the gift. So, she felt extremely pleased.

Then, they all sat down to chat, mostly about some casual topics.

Judy sat quietly on the side while cutting fruits. Just as she was about to hand an apple to Clark, Jenna suddenly said, "Clark, you haven't seen my house yet. Let me show you around."

"Jenna."

"Oh, Dad, you always talk about business even among ourselves. It's so boring. I'll take Clark on a house tour." With that, she squeezed in between Clark and Judy to separate them and pulled him away while ignoring Matthew's calls.
